We visited Ireland and ate the best food the Emerald Isle has to offer all along the way. We start off in Dublin, before venturing to the West Coast of Ireland.

Ireland is an island nation located in northwestern Europe. It is the third largest island in Europe, and is divided into two political entities: the Republic of Ireland, which covers about five-sixths of the island, and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom and covers the remaining one-sixth.
Ireland has a rich history and culture, with evidence of human habitation dating back to prehistoric times. It has a strong literary tradition, with many famous writers hailing from the country, including James Joyce, W.B. Yeats, and Samuel Beckett. Ireland is also known for its music and dance, particularly traditional Irish music and the Irish stepdance.
The country's economy has undergone significant changes in recent decades, moving from an agricultural base to a more diversified economy with a focus on technology, pharmaceuticals, and financial services. Despite this, Ireland's rural areas still retain a strong agricultural tradition, with dairy and beef farming being particularly important.
Tourism is also a significant industry in Ireland, with visitors coming to enjoy the country's natural beauty, historic sites, and cultural attractions. Some of the country's most famous landmarks include the Cliffs of Moher, the Ring of Kerry, and the Giant's Causeway.

I should add, the Irish people, they have great pride in their culture & in their food, hence why the food's so fresh & so good. I often hear negative things about Irish food, specifically from the past, but this is now 2023 & the foodie industry/scene has done a complete 360 degrees! We're off to Ireland later this year & we'll have much time to enjoy the country that literally "saved" me when I felt very down many moons ago. The sweet images of Ireland were just a dream back then & I so yearned to go there. I can only ever smile when I think of Ireland & it's special inhabitants.🙂 Ireland, you bring me great joy & you're forever in my heart. I love you Ireland.💚

The negative things about Irish food were true when I was there. Other than a traditional Irish breakfast and Irish brown bread, the food that I experienced in Ireland was horrible.

Definitely love irish food. I want to try it. I haven't had irish food too often except for the usual beef stew, roast lamb or cabbage & beef but haven't had others. I'm used to filipino, spanish, portuguese or italian food but irish foods just looks so tasty and delicious. I can get used to eating irish food daily and also full scottish breakfast meals. I love food that keeps you full and strong. 😊

A new subscriber here. Ahhhh beautiful Ireland! A wonderful episode guys! I hope & pray that the Irish always hold strongly onto their rich & long standing historic culture, because once too much of their culture's washed away via modernisation, then it's lost forever & that, would be a very sad day. Of course, this applies to all global cultures. Thanks for sharing & it's great to see that you guys really enjoyed yourselves.

Ireland has similar food to Britain, stews, shepherd's pie, fish and chips, sausage and chips, mash potato, I wouldn't fancy American food though it's full of chemicals, they can only eat organic, in Britain and Ireland we can eat both, our crops are not sprayed with rubbish our chickens are not soaked in chlorine.

@fionbarra
@fionbarra Жыл бұрын
@@andrewruddy962you need to read a little about the Great Hunger. Those who lived near the Sea had long sold their fishing boats and fishing gear to buy food. You’re also assuming the majority of the population lived close to the Sea. And by close I mean close enough to be able to walk. The elephant in the room is the sheer amount of food exported to England during the Great Hunger. Food to pay rent on land confiscated by the British in the first case and settled by absentee landlords who lived in Britain. The catastrophe that was the Great Hunger was largely man-made but the ability of the Irish to live from the Sea is pretty tenuous as a principal if you understand the true hardship the entire population went through.
