Always follow the rule of 5. Spend 5 minutes picking up trash or pick up 5 items of trash. Thanks for keeping the fishing spots clean... Oh and congrats on the 100k subs.

At one time during my fishing trips, it was so overwhelming with fisherman trash, how could I not pick the crap up. I am so thankful you get it

Being born and raised in Houma, La and growing up fishing all over south Louisiana I am glad to know I am not the only one who makes an effort to clean up a little bit where I go. I appreciate that you take your time out to do this.
@mikemangham90512 ай бұрын
The funny thing is the people that throw the trash are the ones who complain when they come back, and will never do anything about it.Thanks for going the extra miles, and congrats to a Cajun brother. Keep highlighting Sportsman Paradise ❤

It’s pretty easy to spread the word on Outside The Levees…… I tell folks in line at the grocery store, waiting for a shower at the truck stop, waiting to be loaded/unloaded at a warehouse. I just ask folks, “You like eating crabs”? They say, “Yep”. I say, “Check out Outside The Levees. This dude catches them with a dip net out of ditch. Seriously”. It’s easy to spot people who enjoy eating blue crabs. They are cheery and optimistic folks. They stick out. Doesn’t cost a thing and it makes people happy.

Congrats again on 100k! Man when was a kid my neighbor would buy all the bluegill i could catch out of the creek close to our house. No bluegill too small. He preferred smaller the better. I asked one day "how he eats the really small ones?" He replied," if they are small enough i can fry the whole fish and and its the best fish potato chip/snack you could want" I never tried but heard tiny ones are on point

Congratulations on reaching 100,000. I thoroughly enjoyed the video. I loved watching the bream fishing, but actually the highlight of this video for me was watching you policing the area and your comments while you were doing it. It really triggered some long ago fond memories. When I was a little kid, my grandparents lived in Austin, but both of them were originally from Wimberley, Texas, about 35 miles south of there. When I became old enough, Gramps started taking me fishing in the area around Wimberley whenever I would come to visit them. One morning when I was probably about 9 or 10, he woke me up extra early, telling me we were going somewhere different because he had something special he wanted to show me. This would probably have been around 1964 or 65. So we got in his pickup and headed south on I-35, but instead of going toward Wimberley, we headed farther south toward New Braunfels. Canyon Dam had recently been completed and he wanted to show me the new lake. His plan was for us to go to the dam and get there in time to watch the sun coming up, so we could enjoy it together. Unfortunately, when we got to the parking area overlooking the water, the entire area was covered in empty beer cans and bottles, and every other kind of trash and litter. The entire area was disgusting. Though I was too young to realize it at the time, it basically looked like a parking lot outside of a football stadium after a massive tailgate party. Not exactly the perfect spot to commune with nature with your grandson. Gramps was PISSED!!! The one thing I remember most clearly was what Gramps had to say about how to solve that kind of problem. He said they should hang people for littering. In retrospect, it might sound kind of funny, but I was there, and he didn’t sound like he was kidding. It had a major impact on me, and I still remember the entire episode sixty years later. And sixty years later, I think I still agree with him. Years later, whenever I could get back down to Wimberley to go fishing on the Blanco River, where he grew up fishing, I made a ritual of picking up as much trash as I could, in his memory. I haven’t been down there in several years, but your video brought back many wonderful memories this morning, and I have decided to put a trip to the river on my bucket list for this year. And before I go, I’m going to make a point of getting one of those nifty trash picker uppers you were using. I’m just too damn old for all that stooping down and bending over anymore. Thanks, again and have a great weekend.

Great video. Bluegill are about the best fish for catching and eating. Here is a good way to do them. Fillet them, then sprinkle with Old Bay. Then sauté in butter with some fresh herbs. It makes bluegill seem fancy. Thanks for picking up the trash.
