India doesn't give their passports to non-Indians. They don't permit dual nationality. So you can be sure that most of the Indian-looking people in this video are not Indians in Indian law. They won't have Indian passports or Indian nationality. Indians love to become United States, Canadian, European, Australian and British passport-holders, because these passports open doors for them. Indian passports are essentially worthless, as can be ascertained from any of the major, passport-rating websites. However, in order to acquire these prestigious, White people's passports, Indians are required to surrender their Indian passports to India. When the slightest opportunity arises, Indians willingly dump their worthless passports and rush to get their White sahibs or memsahib's passport.

Hey David just a correction Kori chicken gashi is a mangalorean or udupi dish and not Kerala. Any dish with coconut in it doesn't mean will come only from Kerala. Coconut or be it curry leaves is almost used in all South India cuisines not only kerala cuisine. Do discover the luscious greenery of udupi, mangalore and you will be blown by the simplicity in food , people and culture. Do visit to try the sea food heaven in udupi mangalore side too. To quote further you have not even tasted 1% of what South India has to offer. Be it udupi, madurai, hyderabad, dharwad, the local cuisine of South India is not just limited to dose or idli. It has many more local delights which has not yet gained mainstream exposure but are no less than panner butter masala any given day.

@10:19 actually Tandoor is not Indian subcontinent cuisine it is imported to that region when the meat eaters -- Turks, Mughals, Persian and other moved in from central Asia and the middle east - they still use Tandoor in those regions. Traditionally the subcontinent was " veg based society". Now you may call it "Indian Tandoori with mix of Indian species". In Persian they call it "Tanoor" - In the middle east traditionally they dug the hole underground and cook the meat as whole carcasses. The best "Tanoori" bread you find in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan in central Asia up to Turkey and beyond.

Friendly correction: As someone from all the way "North," they do NOT use spoons bruv! Also, Kashmiri "naan" is not a thing. It's a modern day Indian American restaurant invention. I swear they add nuts and raisins to anything and call it "Kashmiri." Real Kashmiri breads are tsot, ghyev tsot, lavasa, sheermal, katlam, bagarkhaani, girda, roath, and tilwor. Happy eating!

One correction in the name of the dishes. "Kori Gassi" is a traditional Mangalorean/South Canara dish and not from Kerala. It is a coconut based Chicken gravy usually had with Rotti, Which is thin rice crisp wafers. The combination is called as Kori-Rotti. Yum!! :D

Hey David, it’s great you’re exploring Indian food in the US. Just a suggestion - The Kori Gassi that you had is not from Kerala it’s from Mangalore. Mangalore is also a coastal city but in Karnataka. They also use a lot of coconut in their cuisine and are known for great seafood and vegetarian foods. Would be great if you could explore the place when you’re in india the next time! Keep it going man 🤘🏼🤛🏼

Groceries! Great fresh produce at big bazaar; not just Indian things. Also try subzi mandi on other side of I-287 if it's closer / easier to get to (same stuff, slightly smaller store, similar prices), and patel bros + more. There's a very good asian grocery store "top quality market" a few miles down the road (46 same side) for another whole range of cuisines. I love to cook a wide variety of international cuisines, and these stores are indispensable. There are several more in the area, and they all are worth a look.
