This is so so helpful! Now I can go into set eating times knowing these tips and enjoy the experience. I love how you said even if we “mess up” before that set eating time, it’s okay and it doesn’t mean that the event is ruined.

I'm pretty new to intuitive eating. It sounds like in order for it to work best, you need to have a healthy relationship with food. My problem is, for various reasons, I am terrified of being hungry. Any tips on how to overcome that fear of not having enough that drives some of us to keep eating even when we feel full?

I've had some experience with this! Two things that helped me personally was 1. Fasting. It taught me that my body doesn't HAVE to have food all the time and that I'm stronger than my hunger. (Definitely see a doctor before fasting if you have any medical conditions like diabetes or something). 2. Journaling. Write down how you feel when you're hungry, satisfied, or stuffed and try to chart where you are on the hunger scale.

Speaking of vodka, do you have any thoughts on alcohol and intuitive eating?

Have you ever discussed intermittent fasting (like 16:8) and your views on that. Can it be combined with intuitive eating? Is it something you avoid doing. Is there such a thing as eating too frequently and doesn't that have effects on our digestion, blood sugar, etc...?

Colleen talked about it once in the community. And said the only 'fasting' is sleeping. If your body is telling you it needs food, it needs food. That even means if you wake up in the middle of the night with hunger you still need to eat. She also talked about practical hunger in another video where she recommended not going too many hours without eating
