I tried doing a low-spend for 2024. I certainly spent way less than usual, but more than I would have liked! I'm doing another low-spend challenge for 2025! It can only get better as my values clarify and I get stronger!

I don't know if it's the same in the US, but here you really need to watch 'specials' with a VERY jaundiced eye. For example, cans of Pepsi were promoted at '30 x 2 cartons for $52" while the 24 cans were $20 - or CHEAPER per can and I wasn't stuck lugging two heavy cartons home. Then there's the '50% off RRP' when the item was NEVER EVER sold at that "RRP", so it's just marketing BS. Nice list Sara - THANK-YOU! We're nervously watching your election - I think you are in for some interesting times ahead! Cheers from Oz!

Very tricky of them! I'm from the US and someone online said that some of the beauty products for men are cheaper than the same thing in the women's section! She was right. I saw that the Biore Pore Strips at Target are $2.00 cheaper in the men's section!

I’ve invested in garden solar lights and put them on our landing and bathroom window ledges and hope they’ll save us putting the upstairs lights on for as long. They do seem to help! If I turn the lights on, I turn them so the little solar panels face the dominant light source so that helps too!

I am 51 years old and I don't think I ever let the water run while brushing my teeth (3 minutes!) Or when I wash my hands. I think that is really common here in Germany. Saving the change even if not using physical money is fantastic. Unbelievable how much money that brings over time. All the best❤

I just scored a super deal on adidas sneakers that were marked down AND were children's size. You can pull that off when you are a shorty! And those no spend periods can reprogram you completely. We do Secret Santa in my family, and we are supposed to submit some things you want, within a price limit, and I'm having a hard time thinking of things I want as a present.

For your secret santa, what's a small consumable indulgence you enjoy in Winter or Spring but avoid buying? Some nice coffee? A selection of teas? Items to have an at-home spa day? A small, pretty thermos to carry coffee or a hot snack? Some fancy spices or sauces you usually don't buy? Or a kit to try a craft you're interested in exploring
