Eoin and aisling, just beware any vlogs in malaysia from foreign vloggers (especially western vloggers who came from indonesia) will be spammed here with hate comments. The common guy is "suruhanjaya". Ignore them. We have many bad experience with comments they posted in Wild carlos, nick k, mathias pettersen, bags packed family, gypsy in sneakers, dale philip, lost leblanc to name a few.

Thankfully our comments are that bad with this, we have heard from others on KZbin that their comment sections can get a bit crazy but we are hoping for only positive energy in our comment section!

@EoinandAisling you guys travelled around. I am talking about youtubers based in Indonesia eg bali or lombok or sulawesi. If they travel to malaysia(usually 1st time), their viewers will belittle my country with hate comments on food, culture, race, religion. This will force the youtuber to stay in Indonesia forever to retain like and subscribe. As those youtubers may get less like or subscribe here. I have seen many. But people like nick k has a malaysian girlfriend, so he ignores them or knows the truth or facts from the half truth.

Pandan is actually a leaf that widely used for adding the unique good smell and taste to the food itself. Nasi lemak also normally cook with pandan leafs to enhance the aroma of the rice. I'm glad you like it...!!!

Yes... and local food especially Malay food used a lot of natural flavour. Like the blue colour of Nasi Kerabu is actually from a flower, the syrup also from Rose petal.

Pandan ( a type of screwpine) plant. Its like a tall grass . The blades of the leaves when crushed and mixed with water gives that aroma and jasmine like scent. Its basically the South east asian version of Vanila (although vanilla comes from beans) pandan is the extract of the long blade of pandan grass. Generally mostly used in sweet desserts occasionally on savory dishes usually with normal rice or glutinous rice to give it flavor.

For me..Jln TAR Night Market is the Best in town compare to.. Tmn Connaught Night Market which is overrated..yet mostly the food is "Halalan n Toyyiban" Notes; Jln TAR= is the short form for; Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman is @ M'sia 🇲🇾 1st Prime Minister!!! Thanks for sharing the video and really enjoyed your food tour at the night market..😋

The street market they went to is on Jalan Masjid India not Little India which is in Brickfields. There is another larger market on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (TAR) which is close by on a certain day, can't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday. These are mostly Muslim markets where you can get Malay food. For Chinese food, the street market is at Taman Connaught on a certain evening once a week-- Wednesday (??)
