Travel Guide to Nakhon Phanom, Thailand!
🎥 WATCH NEXT: Thailand’s Most Dangerous Temple - • One Slip, 300 Meter Fa...
NAKHON PHANOM, THAILAND (นครพนม) - Welcome to Nakhon Phanom, a quiet and peaceful province in the Isan Northeastern region of Thailand, along the Mekong River. You’ll immediately notice how life takes on a much more relaxed and slower pace when you’re here. Today, we’re visiting one of the most revered pagoda temples in Isan and then eating a fiery spicy bowl of rice noodles and fermented fish sauce. This is Day 1 in Nakhon Phanom. #NakhonPhanom #Thailand #ThaiFood
That Phanom, Thailand - Located in Nakhon Phanom province, That Phanom is a city that’s famous for its temple.
Wat Phra That Phanom (วัดพระธาตุพนมวรมหาวิหาร) - The main pagoda dates back to sometime in the 6th - 9th century, but it was rebuilt again in the 16th century by the King of Laos. It’s highly revered and a pilgrimage destination because it is said to have a breast bone of Buddha.
Perm Poon Khanom Jeen (เพิ่มพูลขนมจีน) - The highlight of my day was lunch at a restaurant called Perm Poon Khanom Jeen (เพิ่มพูลขนมจีน), known for fresh rice noodles, fermented fish sauce, and insanely spicy chilies. It was sensational, especially with a sprinkle of white popinac seeds (aka mini stink beans) poured all over. Delicious, highly recommended.
Total price - 30 THB ($1) per plate
Thank you for watching this Day 1 in Nakhon Phanom, Isan, Thailand, and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Mark, I hope you read this one day! You are truly remarkable. I started watching your videos few years back and I am addicted. I wait daily for you to post new videos. You are truly an inspiration. Your love for life, food, travel, nature, your positive attitude is wonderful. Your Thailand series is great, as I’ve learned so much about Thailand and the culture that I want to go there one day. As someone who loves food, nature and travel.. I am traveling through you. I also love spicy and flavorful food. I wish I can be a full time eater but I doubt I’ll stay skinny like you. Keep your positive spirit up, and God bless! 🙏🏽Are you selling those masks with the 🌶 on it? Would love to get one!

At Nakhon Phanom has many pagoda and great faith in the serpent. Causing every temple to have a serpent statue. Nakhon Phanom has tourist attractions along the Mekong River. Can eat, play banana boat and Thai-Lao sightseeing cruise and traditional boat-flowing festival (Lai Rue Fai) in october the same day as Laos. In terms of food, we are influenced by Laos, Vietnam and China so there are many varieties.
