You young guys make this hard work look so easy. The chain saw is making fast work of removing unwanted growth, soon it will be an open view and useful property. I love watching your videos,

You dull your blade everything you touch the soil with it.

Entertaining vid. Just a quick tip, I’m no pro, but always ensure your back cut is above the bottom of the face cut by approximately 2 inches. If you make a steeper face cut, say 70 degrees, it will help the tree fall all the way to the ground. Also you never wanna cut through your hinge wood. Ik they are just small trees, but for future reference.

Thanks, that video was about 2-3months ago. A lot has changed and a lot has been learned since then. Especially what you just stated. Thanks!

Lally Life no problem, I’m still very much in the learning stages myself. Always good to share knowledge- Ik it’s a personal choice, but consider investing in some chaps and a helmet, small price to pay for the possible difference of life or death

I'm also not a pro! Great vid. Back cut should be aligned with bottom of the face, I think.

what tells you when to fell a tree and when to dig one out with an excavator? I am getting ready to clear some land and I don't know which option is best... Some of the area will have a road built (dirt/rock) and other areas will be left as a pasture.
@lallylife85454 жыл бұрын
If you’re clearing a bunch of land an excavator would help a lot. But if you’re renting it then definitely get as much done with a chainsaw that you can. We’re using chainsaw and our tractor with a grapple attachment right now until we ready to get a excavator out here our selves. if you’re worried about stumps then I would cut them move the wood you’ll be saving then rip the stumps out. Or...leave them and flush cut them to the ground. For roads I.e asphalting? I would rip them out all the way. But road as in a trail flush cut them. Over time them will break down and add nutrients back to the ground.

This is the only time.i dont like using my 550.i feel a older carb saw is better for this on and off quick cutting since they dont auto tune them selves
