Hey Ace, I came to your channel through Zac Fowler and I've been really enjoying what I've been watching. You and your Dad (and your brother) have a really awesome relationship going down. I really like the way you guys say a prayer before you eat and show respect to the environment you make your videos in. Wishing you tight lines!

When you anchor its always good to anchor in a clearing so not to damage the reef or any coral. Those spotted ones are a type of grouper and the redish one with the big eyes is a squirrel fish.
@supervisorone59602 жыл бұрын
This is super important... Reef and coral damage could take a lifetime to recover from. Never anchor over a reef or coral its the boaters responsibility to find a clearing of sand.

As I sit here in the snowy Pennsylvania mountains I’ve gotta say I envy you, Ace. I very much wish I was in the Florida Keys right now. But soon enough it’ll be opening day for trout here, I’m counting down the days to Fishmas, and watching your videos helps pass the time. Sending prayers that you and your father continue living your best lives.

Love you ace you deserve everything. Just wanna say you have literally changed my life. In 2017 I had severe depression. I was honestly starting to think about ending my life. I know as a child of god that I just couldn’t do that. Then I found you. I started fishing in small lakes and ponds and then I remembered my dads old Yamaha boat. I got it out of the shed fixed it and I now make a living off of fishing and it is all because of you. I love you so much and I will always remember you till the day I die. Thanks ace.

Awesome video! For anyone who wants to know, first grouper (3:10) is a strawberry grouper. Second (5:10) is a squirrelfish. The parrotfish (10:16) is regulated as an aquarium fish by the FWC. So you can't keep them for food but only for aquariums. Fourth fish (11:20) is called a houndfish. They are like a kinda like a long ballyhoo with sharp teeth. That school of fish eating the chum (11:55) are called bermuda chubs. They aren't typically good eating but some people eat them.
@itsace61122 жыл бұрын
The parrotfish is actually a puddingwife wrasse and can be kept

If anyone is wondering why the sign says to poke the eyes before throwing away the carcass, I googled so you don't have to: poking the eyes releases the gasses, this makes it so the fish sinks to the bottom and prevents them floating and attracting birds to the area

I respect Ace for taking the time to look up the parrot fish and releasing it after finding out that they're not a keeper. Down here in Thailand parrot fish are an endangered and are protected by law. They are suppose to help get rid of the algaes growing on corals.

A few things for you guys. First tell your father watch his fingers when handling them mangrove snapper. They will literally try and snap you and they will put those 2 from teeth right through your finger nail. Also bring more chum and use a mesh bag with larger holes. In the keys the more chum the better. The farther back you cast in the chum slick is where the bigger snapper hang. Sorry one more thing, use a lot more leader (10-20 feet worth.) good luck and tight lines.
@playerunknown80092 жыл бұрын
A bit of clarification for anyone who wants to know, 3:08 is a very common species of grouper i cant remember the name of, 5:50 is called a boney marrian because it has sharp spines near its gills that can cut your hands when they start thrashing their head, they're very greedy and also quite common, 11:20 is a gar, though they dont get much bigger then that

That blue fish you caught is a puddingwife wrasse instead of a parrotfish; parrotfish have beaks, while puddingwife wrasse have teeth. I believe it's also a reef fish that can only be taken alive for aquariums.

Just a fun fact about pelicans is that they don’t have a very long lifespan. When they dove bomb the water in the ocean after fish the velocity they hit the water with will eventually make them go blind to where they can no longer hunt in the wild and eventually starve and die. They also have extremely sharp teeth and also a throat produces an acid that actually melts the fish they caught into mush. So anytime you’re cleaning any sort of fish it doesn’t matter what kind of fin’s or spikes. I actually learned this when I took my niece and nephew to the New Orleans aquarium and we were on a tour. I was born in New Orleans and love the place but would never want to live there. I’m very thankful my parents moved to Dallas. Even my grandma and my great aunt and my fathers cousins have all moved to Baton Rouge because it’s one thing to visit New Orleans for a few days but living in that city (which used to be one of the richest cities in the United States back in the day). Has become a giant mess. So if you goto New Orleans for a trip stay in city unless you know what your doing and know where the REAL restaurants and seafood markets are at or you will most likely be robbed.
