Isn’t Yucatán fabulous? I love spending time exploring the region. Valladolid, I think, has gotten more popular with tourists since I was there in 2013. Anyway what a nice little town. The region as a whole, even though the landscape is flat, has a certain magic to it. The presence of Maya culture and antiquity definitely helps. I also remember a golden glow and quality to the winter afternoon light illuminating stone walls and colorful buildings ... and cloud formations. Thank you - now I’m going to have to go again this winter and stay in Merida.

I'm 99% positive it was a tour guide there. He was the only one by my backpack when I left it unattended. I kept an eye on it when I was in the water so it was likely when I went to take pictures. There were reviews of this happening to others on Google. I just didn't think it would happen to us.

A very charming town in Yucatan, Valladolid is quite the destination to visit: there are so many things to do in Valladolid and all around the area. As always, thanks for a great video! You have it all: food, culture, activities and an overview of a nice looking RV park. I am very sorry to hear about the theft. As you noted, it could have been worse. As you said, it was a $1000 peso reminder to secure valuables everywhere. I had my change purse (containing less than $60 pesos) stolen from my pocket during a clever 2 person bump pick-pocket incident in CDMX. I realize I was a soft target with my purse in a loose shorts pocket with me completely distracted by the sights around me. The incident woke me up and led me to be much more careful about securing valuables and staying alert to who is around me. Now as for scorpions ...

No we are not. But I did see that gordo x el mundo went there recently! The cenotes are cold but each cenotes water temp varies. That was Feb. April and may are the hottest months in the Yucatan. They don't have summer per say like the USA or Canada, it's a rainy season and dry season. - Liz

Thank you! Yes there are some cenotes that mix with salt water, but that's because of it's location. Technically the Cenote ha access to fresh water aquifer.
