I am learning about wild edibles. So, your videos are very informative. Would you do a video on edible sea weeds? Thank you.

It's a matter of perspective, knowledge and timing...foraging is not a skill learned overnight. Wilds food wouldn't do much to blunt a sudden food shortage because almost no one knows how to do it... whereas a century ago nearly every one did know how to do it.

Deane, that's two different subspecies. The species is the same. I know you really know that but wanted to clarify for those with less of a botany background.

"And [fire ants] are not edible! Well, they are but they're not too tasty." I hear they taste like vinegar!:O

Um, eating plants of many kinds is vital to life, and avoiding legal liability to a perverse extent is an unfortunate need for those trying to hack out income from KZbin. What I would say is work to learn about plant identification before eating plants you don't know AS IF YOU LIFE DEPENDED ON IT, BECAUSE IT DOES. However, learn also, as if your life depended on it, because some day it may. Our society's provisioning through grocery outlets is not a sociologically healthy method, at least not alone, and in and of itself should serve as a metaphor for how far off we are from stable sustainable living.
