Like, cool, they did WW1 and went back to WW2 with how BF started, but I wanna see them tackle sci-fi future warfare again - CoD fans weren't really fond of the future warfare thing mainly because of the jetpack movement, but Battlefield didn't have any of that.

the main part here is: EA has little to NO say in this, they gave out the IP to Petroglyph and LemonSky and kept their moneygrubbing tentacles OUT of the Remaster..that is why it sounds so good! EA is good with financing, EA is bad with make development and design decissions since their main goal is quick money.

Uhm you don't know if it will result in more sales. In fact, I am positive that their main income generators, such as Fifa games make more money. Ea releases a lot of games with a lot of different income models based on their niche, popularity, community and type. I bought the game before I had a computer because I managed the Computer lab at my school and would spend hours playing. They are not even directly comparable....if you want to compare this to similar 4K-remasters, then I suggest looking at Starcraft: Remastered or Age of Empires: Definitive Edition. Reforged was supposed to be LOT more than just mere 4K-remaster....even though it was never supposed to be full on remake, the plans they had for it would have set it somewhere between remaster and remake. That being said ofc with Reforged it didnt came down to just what they failed to deliver but also how unpolished the game (its MP especially) was at launch and still is missing some features like ranked MP.

Lesson: ALL 3D RTS remasters have been successful. Remastering a 3D RTS game is absolutely idiotic, because so much of the charm with the size and shape of the units relies on the graphical fidelity at the time it was originally developed.

@@Sinekyre14 Well it wasnt just about that.....personally Im mostly fine how Reforged looked visually as long as they had updated the environments/terrain to match the highly detailed 3D unit models...because they didnt, the result looked bit off, but that wasnt even the main issue with Reforged....the main issues were that they continued to falsely advertise the game even though many of the things (most importantly remade cutscenes) were scrapped and that the game was released really buggy and those bugs then effected even those WC3 players who didnt want to buy Reforged, cause the old multiplayer servers/client were taken down in order to have original WC3/TFT owners play together with Reforged players. Blizzard actually had the right idea, NO ONE would have paid merely just for 4K-resolution update (atleast I would not have), they just made poor execution out of it and were not prepared to do the kind of work and effort it would have really required.

I'm about to buy this but I only want to buy one game and came across The Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection as well for the same, $19.99 and includes 17 games. It looks like these Red Alert games are the original and not remastered versions which really impacts my decision. I love the older games and honestly never played the new ones past Tiberian Sun. What I am wondering is...which one should I buy? The Remastered Command & Conquer or The Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection?? The Big factor would be : Are the newer games with updated graphics and stuff fun? And are they more fun than the original versions? Then what if you had the original versions in new graphics?? The addition of an actual Skirmish mode in C&C1 is absolutely mind-blowing. In the original all we had were basically 1Vs1 missions with a finite number of enemy units to confront and that was about it. Now we can have actual skirmishes in the C&C1 setting. I can hardly believe this. I'll finally be able to make my 2 or 3x GDI Vs 2 or 3x NOD matches I've been dreaming of since all those years.

Considering they got Petroglyph (ex Westwood dev, for you younglin's) and Frank on board for this, I'm pretty sure the remastered will be done in justice. Despite EA's reputation. With this, if the Remastered sale goes well. Will EA finally revive C&C franchise and do proper sequels / new C&C series? Tiberium saga pretty much ended, Red Alert still can be revisited and reconned for several times with the time traveler paradox, Generals setting still works well with modern gaming.

Not really "lost"... they're still just in the game files, you know, and IIRC you can switch to just using those old versions. But yea, since there were very few original recording sources to remaster for this they got in contact with Kia Huntzinger, and rerecorded it all.

@@Type000 my only complaints so far are that the physical copy is only a limited run til april. That and the new graphics look a bit cartoony. Least they still look sharp. Still the "EA may terminate any online services within 30 days notice." In the steam store small text disclaimers. I have faith unless the game bombs completely that it'll be alive for at least a couple years.
