Boonies Bound I never understood why they refer to razor knives as "box cutters" in the first place. I remember right after the 9-11 attacks, when they kept describing the 'weapons' used to highjack the planes as "box cutters", I had NO idea what they were talking about! What the heck is a box cutter, I kept wondering. It took a while to figure out they were talking about razor knives. Its obvious that they weren't designed primarily to open boxes, when you watch the ^author of the video using the "box cutter" to cut into the box, and the blade slides out the side.

nice truck....just some info on carb and turbo ....if you are going to run 8 psi you will need at least 20 psi of fuel press.7 on no boost going 1 to1 with boost..you will also need a boost ref regulator....then block the airbleeds in the carb and rejet at least 10 jet sizes bigger....if you have a power valve ...get a low number this will get it running safe ...then you can drill airbleeds to tune..been running a carb turbo setup for 4 years now with 11.1 comp 6 psi ....still going strong....hope this helps

Pretty cool inexpensive hp turbo set up should make that old Chevy run pretty good. I never had good luck with headman headers on small block Chevy's couldn't use certain style bolts or burn the hell out of your wires all the time because the tubes come off flange at slight angle instead of like hooker coming out straight then turn I'm sure many had that custom wrench or Allen in tool box that was put on a grinding wheel.

I have the same kit. That turbo header will fit a Chevelle by the way, though instead of the crossover header mine came with just a normal block hugger which didn't clear my frame rail so I'm using 1 long tube and making my own crossover pipe.

P.S. - when you use a razor scraper where when extended the blade slides in from one side - don't use it wrongly sliding the blade to the side you put them in from. Though isn't it funny they never had a step- back in the latching area just so the blade can't slide back out. lol 😂

I think engine masters did an episode on an eBay turbo 350 and ran into issues the the fitment of everything and the turbo like your oil drain I don't think will be right and the last plug on the passenger side you'll have to hammer the header a little bit and check that wastegate the one on EM was set to like 30lbs of boost or something along those lines BUT it could have been a different seller and different kit so maybe I'm wrong

Imho, the problem is the age of the truck. 1. Most bolt on turbos are made for newer components, for instance Chevy has a high torque small profile starter that will fit in about 1/2 to 2/3s of the space of the one you are using. 2. They are offering a "bolt on" kit but you don't mention if it is Ford, Chevy, Dodge or offered as a here are the parts you figure it out kit. Most turbo kits should have some kind of ecu to set and map for fuel and ignition settings. Dude you can't just expect too spend 800 to 1000 dollars and expect it too fit your specific needs. You would be better off buying a bolt on supercharger for the kind of room you have. You mention all the room in your engine bay, sigh I miss being able to climb in and sit on the fender well. However most of the room you needed was down below but there is plenty of room for a pocket supercharger! Look it's simple like this buy the turbo on E-Bay if you wish, I have personal doubts as to quality. But if you are looking for fit BUY THE TURBO EXHAUST MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR APPLICATION OR HAVE IT MEASURED AND MADE! Yes it will cost a bit more maybe as much as 700 to 800 dollars more. But if you think of all the BULLSHIT you don't have to deal with it is well worth it, . But since you habe what you have set it up in the rear underneath or in the bed you can make a rear mounted inter cooler and make use of the wind turbulence all pick up beds produce.

square ports on the header flange look kinda shitty. hopefully they cover the exhaust ports on the head. I've seen a test of a similar system. the single waste gate couldn't adequately control the boost pressure. they had to install a second one on the driver's side header.

177SCmaro it was most likely just to make them easier to manufacture. Probably shouldn’t affect the performance too much. I, for one, wouldn’t mind the square tube. Like I said, it’s most likely to simplify and speed up manufacturing since it is an eBay kit after all

also get a proper turbo drain tube...some people go with these drain flanged 10an drains that kill turbochargers...make sure you have a 16mm turbocharger drain tube...simple,easy,and correct...

There's nothing wrong with 10an fittings. I think it has more to do with the angle of the drain.

Yes, -10AN is more than adequate, the drain clocked position, tubing/hose angle, length and discharge elevation are extremely important and so is the proper sized oil supply restriction orifice. -10AN = 5/8

Rumoured Gaso I didn't say anything about the turbo... I commented on the exhaust. I have seen many V8 exhaust header configurations, including for turbo. The aspects of this one I found odd were the square tubing used and the fact that the crossover pipe actually connects in the middle of the other collector. Most I have seen reconnect just after the primary collectors, just before the turbo. In this setup, the tube just before the turbo will be performing double duty, which is obviously why they increased the size. I just find it to be an odd setup, and not one I personally like the looks of a lot, but I'm sure it will work, just raises some performance concerns in my mind.

Just a FYI, if you don't want to crash that truck I recommend you NOT have compression fittings on ANY part of the BRAKE system. Not knocking you but cutting/double flaring brake lines is not difficult. Seriously do not drive any car that has compression fitting on the brake lines.

Sins of the previous owner, not my work. I'm putting new brakes/lines on the truck before driving it. The entire brake line going to rear is pieced together with multiple compression fittings.

Saw other video with the Yukon engine problem, if its a 1995-1999 350 those heads crack all the time. Also they are prone to intake gasket failure as well. Same with that Jeep that you replaced the head on, the warp like crazy and crack. Last the manifold leaks you are having most likely because the manifolds are warped, you wouldn't think they warp but they do. Simple fix have machine shop mill the manifolds. Otherwise it will keep blowing gaskets. I worked in a machine shop for many many years so I've pretty much seen it all. Been where you are long time ago, like someone had suggested better to buy a reliable 4 banger to get to work and home. If you have to work on cars just to get to work then work all day that leaves you with no time. Modifying the daily driver bad idea, been there done that ;)

Well doesn't look like they gave you everything you needed one thing I learned from you pay for what you get on eBay as far as those stainless steel manifolds should have went with cast iron they have smaller Runners and a build better torque stainless Steels going to cool down way too fast and I wouldn't be surprised if they crack on your within the first month just from experience and it's not an O2 bung that's where you put the sensor for air fuel ratio and 650 is going to be a little small but things going to start The Break-Up or real bad when you hit boost 750 get the power valve block off kit and get the adjust the Jets you going to have to run it rich

Hi. I was wondering if you've had any more thoughts on the quality or know of anyone who has run one of these turbo's regularly. I'm looking for a setup for my daily driven 350 tbi with vortec heads. I'm only looking for about 8lbs of boost. On the o2 sensor location doesn't it make sense that it is where it is? Otherwise you'd only be gettin info off one bank. Actually you'd want one one the down pipe or just before the turbo flange no?

It's in my follow up videos. The headers had to be remade to even fit eachother. Both sides hit the frame. The wastegate is too small, and in a terrible location and won't bleed off enough pressure to control boost.

Will you be going through how to build the blow through carb , I am doing a turbo on a sbc 400 and tho i want to go FI-Tech its pretty pricey so converting my 4150 carb may be an option until i get the Fi-Tech Haven't seen really many video on converting them carbs to blow through .. Or hell if you do side jobs id drive it down to you , Im not to far from you guys ..
