Yes Ebay told private sellers they can sell clothing with no fees....but forgot about handbags, jewellery and other accessories that can be sold fees-free on Vinted. I recon Ebay needs to do better to compete with Vinted and Depop

No point crying about the clothing issues, just do what you can and adapt. As you say, I think the prices will stay the same and private sellers will make more money by listing it at the market price

As a pro seller with 7k used fashion units online im gutted, firstly a kick in the teeth for us who work hard to maintain high standards. Secondly, surely this will drive prices down closer to vinted, with our fees and overheads in biz how can we possibly compete with those who don’t pay fees or need to accept returns etc.. i think its a poor decision for business sellers. Raging!

if i swapped from a small business account and set up a completely new private account, is there any issues with relisting everything on the new account through zipsale? will the duplicate listings flag with ebay and get banned? or is it best to completely close down the old account / delisting old items before starting a new one and relisting the items? I sell mostly clothes so the private seller “no fees” has annoyed me . I’m only PT . Any advice would be great.

@@RickyResells yeah no worries. To be honest i can’t be bothered messing about … probably just leave it as it is. Ebay can be so volatile with banning unusual activity i don’t think running the risk is worth it so save fees.

eBay started out as a website to sell collectables & none of the competition are really touching that apart from whatnot. eBays issue is that the have been very inventive at charging business sellers but less so at keeping them. Its opened the door for all the competition & the 10% drop in global sales ebay suffered last year is self inflicted. When I next have a clear out of clothes it will be Vinted I sell through for no other reason than that appears to be where the customers are.

Just watching your vid now. You just said people will move over to a private account. Well last week eBay sent me a message saying they review there best sellers from time to time. Then said they want me to register for a business account within 21 days! So now I’m a business seller. So not sure if that will work?

Yea the clothing update is nothing and won't affect us business sellers. As soon as a private seller hits 30 items or £1000-£1700, they contact you about automatically converting to Business account and send over the reports to HMRC. So no problems at all 👌

Ebay is outdated Vinted will take over eBay and I’m very happy about it as I got kicked of eBay for no reason and vinted is much better platform for selling and buying

Regardless of no fees clothes are not selling on ebay anyway 😂 vinted allways get the sales first and I have to take them down off ebay not even going to waste my time with clothes on ebay apart from the big ticket items

Vinted will take over eBay in the next couple of years better set up easy to use and you actually get to talk to humans glad eBay is struggling 😊

On Vinted though you get sellers taking the p*ss sending out damaged goods, SNAD etc. and then forcing the buyer to pay for returns labels because the platform allows them to get away with it. The humans aren't that much better than ebay when there's a problem, they even let sellers lie in your feedback - so long as they don't use profanity they can basically lie through their teeth and Vinted won't remove it.

E-bay hasn't been great in years. Even as a private seller you get shafted by dickheads who take advantage of the fact you can't leave them shit feedback and then you have the pleasure of paying for their returns for a bullshit excuse they've made up. It's laughable and would be dead if it wasn't such a big established platform that can't be touched and thus the only viable options for many sales. All power to the Vinteds for their competition and getting them to shit bricks, because unfortunately them and the what nots need their own USP's to develop because no one can swoop in to be an equal competitor from scratch, meaning they can continue to do what they fuck they like amd not listen to anyone. It's all about the Benjamin's baby.. theirs, not ours.
