Hot take, but I think the 30 day return window on eBay is way too lenient (60 days is absurd). If you're buying pre-owned clothing and measurements and flaws are disclosed, you shouldn't be able to return it. Maybe a week max. That's the one thing I don't want to deal with on eBay.

I agree on the length of time. They could wear the item multiple times during that period. A week is plenty of time for them to inspect it and try it on.

You’re not wrong. It’s nuts. That being said, even though I get returns and they’re annoying, it’s not that bad. And sometimes people open returns and don’t actually take the time to return the item, which is my favorite lol.

As a men’s clothing reseller, I love watching resellers turn their noses up at AE, gap, Uniqlo, h&m, banana republic, and J crew jeans. There are some hidden gems in this brands based on esthetic/style, size, selvedge, Japanese denim to just name a few things that sell for good money and typically fast. If you can find gap 1969 selvedge or Japanese denim jeans, they can easily sell for $40+ and have a high STR.

As a kid with a hard to pronounce name, I always dreaded the initial attendance call because the teacher would inevitably pronounce it wrong in the worst way and I would hear the snickers from the other students. Yes to this!!! Kids’ names are so important-it’s part of their identity. That first few days is always hard when you have a new class, but what really pissed me off were teachers who just never took the time to learn how to say kids’ names properly. “It’s too hard” would be their excuse. Well, then, don’t come at your students when they don’t learn scientific terms or the names of dead people from the history books-“it’s too hard.”

As a person with a hyphenated first name (legal/on my birth certificate), I can say I totally respected my teachers and ONE principal who always called me by my correct first name. I also thank all my friends and coworkers and bosses who use my full correct first name. I don't insist on it (my mother did) but I sure appreciate their thoughtfulness so much!!!

Ground Advantage is the way to go! It's surprisingly must cheaper. I even had the Post Office confirm I did it correct for one of the boxes, I was paranoid - "this is only $10???" 😂😂

I sold on ebay before PM so I had to know the ebay shipping. I prefer using flat rate mailers & boxes for most things. I think people prefer to know upfront how much they pay in shipping & i do too! When I started selling on Poshmark I couldn't believe how easy it is. First step in learning how to ship in eBay is to just start doing it!

Hi Becky! I’ve been on eBay for a few years now but I’ve been curious about something and curious if you know - if I list and item and mark I’d ship using priority mail and have the buyer pay for that, then when I go to ship if I decide to do Ground Advantage instead, is there any penalty? For instance, on the naturalizer boots you shipped, eBay said they paid $12 for priority mail shipping but it was cheaper to do Ground Advantage so you shipped it that way. Just curious if I run into that situation in the future! Love the video and hot tips!

You were the one who tipped me off the fence to start listing to eBay (back in 2022!!). And it was one of the best decisions for my business!! It was the shipping that kind of freaked me out, as well as all the specifics, but now it’s just something I can almost do without thinking. Now, I need to try this time away the way you did it 🤯 I haven’t seen anyone do it this way; or at least show how to do it. This would be helpful while away on my anniversary trip next weekend! Do you need to stop sending offers a while before hand or something? That’s my fear. Selling something that has an offer and having to send out that same day while out of town 🙃🙈

Oh my gah-I’m so happy you finally got on eBay!!! Look at you!!! Honestly, I can’t remember how it works in regards to offers you send. I think whatever your s&h time was at the time of sending the offer is what you have to honor, so I would stop sending offers about 3 days before you leave. And I would change my s&h time the day before you leave. Where are you going for your anniversary trip???

Yeah-I just guess that they won’t be too far from me due to the fact that I’m in the center of the US. But anytime something ships to your neck of the woods or Alaska or something like that, it is more expensive. With you being in CA, the best thing is probably to use calculated shipping, which does usually charge the buyer more, but the cost is based on where they live versus you charging a flat price regardless of their location.

I think the buyer is typically overcharged, which is why I don’t do it. I think it’s wise, though, if you’re on the coast or somewhere like Alaska.

Not sure what happened to my comment earlier but i was asking if i set my listing for priority and the customer selects that priority shipping and when i actually go to ship the item i see that ground advantage is cheaper and select the cheaper option would the customer be upset that its not priority

I've heard you can go up from ground advantage to priority but if the customer selected priority and you did ground the customer could complain about that.

I’m going to be 1000% honest with you-I do this all the time and have never had anyone say anything about it. HOWEVER, again, I think it helps that I’m in the Midwest. Even with ground shipping, my items get to people really fast. A lot of people will say you shouldn’t change it from priority to ground, and they’re probably right, but again, I’m just being honest. That being said, the smartest thing to do would be to select ground shipping on everything when you create your listing bc it really is going to be the cheapest way to ship at least 80% of the time.

It’s harder than poshmark because on poshmark, you don’t have to weigh anything unless it’s over 5 lbs.
