In this video we look at the Mainframe, which is a modular frame pack that I have had my eyes on for quite some time...and adding the Batwings this pack has just taken the form of load hauling workhorse! We get a field use impression and get the Mainframe into some solid hauling use!

External frame pack is the way to go .

They sometimes do lack of little details but great backpacks. I have Warhammer pack which is bombproof with similar versitility of Mainframe pack. I would keep purchasing products from Eberlestock.

I was able to connect a medium dry bag and a large HPG decker pack and a HPG admin panel using G hooks. Sa far is my favorite combination.

21" torso height is quite tall, yet you're still on the bottom rung, that's a huge oversight from Eberlestock in my book. They really should have added one or two additional rungs.

That camo pattern is quit impressive. It looks like this might have some advantages over the Granite Gear Chief Flatbed in the metal frame and the shelf but the Flatbed does have the massive beaver tail. Have you seen Boonedockerys video series on Ruckdiculous? He found something very similar to this that fits the Alice and other frames that just might be the best of both worlds but for the life of me I can't identify it although it makes me think of Eberlestock products.

What do you do with your water ? I like the traditional placement of a 1 liter bottle just behind my right and left sides. I just got the frame and trying to get some ideas on how to attach some bottle pouches. Thanks !

I am 1,83 (which is about 6 feet) and I measured according to Eberlestock fitting, my back length from my hips to my upper vertèbre at 48 cm (18,89 inch). I seem to be just on the very low side of the tall frame. You mention your hight at 21 inch (53.3 cm) Do you have a little margin for adjustment or are you at the inférieur limit. I just dont want to buy the tall one and find out I'm missing a little space to be confortable.

I like the Mainframe, I wish I would have went with it instead of the Just One J34 Pack. The one thing I hate with Eberlestock is the zippers, I wish the zippers would zip down instead of up when attaching accessories. When I zip on the panel or the Super Spike Duffel the weight of it pulls the zipper down when hiking, really annoying and such an easy remedy. I use micro bungee cords to keep the zippers pulled up.
