I have the HSD S8i....traded up from the Vektron Q9 when its folding feature was no longer primary need....really appreciate the suspended front fork, ABUS frame lock, twist grip throttle and virtually maintenance free, Gates belt drive.

Hi. I also ended up getting the same bike. Have you ever had the need to take the bike in for maintenance ?

Great review. Been interested in this bike for a while. Wish I was in Detroit, I would come by and do a test ride.

how does it ride on gravel roads?

The thudbuster you showed at 12:54 is the long travel version. The short travel version has a smaller rubber block.

That is the smaller block. If you Google the LT you’ll see there’s much more travel and a different design. You can also find this information on the TERN website.

@@RiDetroit Thanks for clarifying, theres actually 2 short travel versions. One that you have listed and another one with a smaller block. www.pushys.com.au/cane-creek-sp6a272-gen4-thudbuster-27-2x345mm-short-travel-alloy-suspension-seatpost-black.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw-qeFBhAsEiwA2G7NlzaHld6Iv5GYdtw5L-Kt4eoqrdmNgQta0kBEKp4DtwUvRSxShpIvUhoCgbcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Either way they are nice to have. I got one on my GSD. Cheers.
