Good info. Where were you 2 yrs ago when getting my 1st eBike? 😂 Just installed new air forks so went from a threaded headset to an integrated bearing headset & had trouble getting the star nut seated. Dan's Comp confired the top cap bolt should be snuged 1st to remove the bearing slack then tighten the stem bolts alternating until both at 4 NM. Then cinch the top cap bolt into the star nut or expander nut they now have too. Great waxing formula on the chain. Bought some expensive chain wax in a crock pot but just took the chain, chain ring, derailleur, shifter & cable off to save weight so never waxed my chain. 😂

2 years ago i was figuring this stuff out myself! I think you’re right yeah, with alternating the stem bolts. But yeah, point being- top cap bolt tightenning in relation to stem bolts. I always have to grab the fork and lift up as i do that top cap bolt, to get the compression set right with the headset bearings. If the stem bolts are tightened first it can prevent the top cap bolt from getting that compression set properly. I think my other main pain point in the past was constantly adjusting mechanical brakes; now i just recommend to people get hydraulics. And yeah when it comes to chain products, there’s a lot of them out there that basically turn into grinding pastes instantly lol. And even with wax, there’s always someone trying to sell it as a “super secret formula “ … But its not rocket 🚀 science 🧬 !! I hope this one helps some people out!! Took me like 4 years of fussing with bikes to come to this understanding, lol .

shaving the paraffin wax - Use a cheese grater.

@@ecocentrichomestead6783 yes that can work! a fine grater would be ideal, you want the wax pieces as fine as possible as to dissolve easier.
