This is my first time thinking about buying an ebike. I went into an outdoor store that sells Aventon. My goal was to test out the 500.2, but they did not have it in white anymore. I also tested out the Solera7. The salesguy asked me if i liked it and i told him i did not like either because it felt very jerky. His response is that you would have to get used to riding an ebike. I was discouraged from buying an ebike and also disappointed that he did not mention the 500.3 with the torque sensor. I had to find this out for myself via online. Overall i wanted to thank you for this very informative video especially explaining the torque sensor. I cannot wait to go back and test out the 500.3. This most likely be a game changer for me!!

UPDATE: Finally got the 500.3 almost two months after ordering it. Supposedly there was a strike at the LA shipyard? The torque sensor is a game changer for me. Having to get used to the upright position and changing the seat. So much fun riding and at a further distance than a regular bike!!

My wife and I just purchased two Pace 500.3 ebikes from our local bike dealer (Macomb Bike in Warren Michigan). We went in clueless, and the salesman steered us to the Aventons. It's only been a week, but we're impressed so far. This video was helpful in getting to know our new ebikes, thanks for such a thorough review. First thing I'm going to do after watching this video is change the max speed of the bike to 28mph. I had no idea I could do that. Remember, if it's too fast, you're too old.

Thank you for such a great, thorough review! I fell in love with the Pace 500.3 at my local shop but didn't want to impulse buy it right there so I listened to this video on the way home, and only became more and more sold by the time I got home! Now my very own should be ready within a few days, I can't wait!

I purchased the Pace 500.3, I love the handle bar sweep back design and the upright position for riding. I added a rack and Topeak bike bag the that can detach by sliding off the bike rack, it also has room for my extra battery.

Definitely the pace! Whats the point of an agressive stance on a city/commuter electric bike? If i have pedal assist and im just riding around the city i wanna be comfortable! Really wish they offered a front suspension option though.

Just got mine today. I have a 1st generation Aventure and this is so much more comfortable to ride. I can actually pedal this without assist unlike the Aventure. Going out for a long ride tomorrow to sort it out.

Love my pace 500.3 .. Great bike and a joy to ride . I did change my seat post and added a C9 seat and that really helped with the pot holes ..Front suspension would make this bike one of the best ebikes out there ..

The Pace 500.3 is a winner for me. Just got it delivered and the up right stance is the most comfortable for me. I am new to biking and I liked the price point on this bike. I added the fenders and rear rack to round off this bike. Only a couple days with the bike, and I am happy. The cruising style seems to fit me best. Lots of bike paths to choose from in my area. The Step over version I weighed in at 53lb, and has very easy feel on the road. The torque sensor on petal assist feels neutral to me, I have not been surprised by the way it reacts (not jerky, but smooth). Your ride review is pretty much the same as I have experienced the bike's capabilities so far.

I am going to my local bike shop.. on Sunday to take a test ride on the Aventon-500.3. The bike shop is in Catonsvile MD. They ordered the 500.3. Just so I could give it a test ride to see how I like the ride. Thank for a great video. Will let you know if I make the purchase.

You can adjust the screen brightness in the app after turning on the light. I usually adjust it down, then back up to max. It helps in daylight. But I still have some trouble viewing it. I am a Sr. and have bad eyes. I hope to ride for years before losing my eyesight.

Torque sensor is a game changer for sure. The blinkers and backlights are a nice touch too. Great cruiser, but assistance can be turned down/off for actual exercise. I like the bike so much that I bought a second one. These things make biking fun again and now that we live in an area with actual hills and high elevation, we need something with a bit of help sometimes. I was considering the Adventure.2 but it is 20 lbs more - which makes it really hard to get on a bike rack for transport. I might replace the seat with one with memory foam or gel.

On Aventon's website they list the weight of the Level.2 as 62lbs. I own the Level.2 and it does heel a lot heavier than 54lbs.
@dgmithril Жыл бұрын
Yeah I was going to point this out myself. Definitely listed as 62 lbs. That being said, if you put on a rear rack and fenders on this Pace 500.3 like the Level.2 has,, I imagine the weight will be similar.

Thanks for pointing out the Level. I would buy the Level if it had the wraparound handlebar. The weight is great on both the Pace 500 & Level. Would need to add the extras to the Pace 500 that come with the Level, like rack and fenders. Both are Torque driven. Weight is very similar and you get front suspension on the Level. The Level is actually a better deal, unless you Do Not want fenders, rack and suspension. . Aventon seems to make some very nice ebikes. They are priced a little higher, but they seem a little more refined. Definitely a consideration.
@barryinny Жыл бұрын
I'm thinking the same if you want a torque vs cadence - "I would buy the Level if it had the wraparound handlebar". Have you researched the Euphree City Robin X?
@Jpantab Жыл бұрын
The levels suspension is nothing like the one the sinch has.. I returned my level and got the pace. The pace rides like a dream despite not having the the front suspension. I have a seat post suspension and it’s as comfy as my sinch ST
@JasonTaylor-po5xc Жыл бұрын
Pace 500.3 is a nicer bike once you add the fenders and rack. I've seen several reviews comparing to the Level.2 and many comment the front suspension isn't a huge deal between the two. I like having blinkers too. I don't mind them being extra, but they are often out of stock, which is just plain annoying.

Hi. I'm looking for my first ebike for exercise riding in my slightly rolling hill Long Island, NY neighborhood - I don't see needing to be moving at 28mph too often. I'm 67 yrs old...6'/220 lbs and have some L5 disc issues - I won't need any crazy riding capabilities and will never be riding trails. I've been researching bikes through various written and video reviews. I have to tell you - this may be one of the most thorough and informative and unbiased video reviews I've seen. I'm trying to stay in the sub $2,500 price point...but really don't want to spend more than I have to for my needs so if I can get away with under $2k I'll be thrilled. I'm valuing comfort as my #1 priority since if it's not going to be comfortable - I won't be doing much riding SO those swept back upright adjustable handle bars look like something I'm extremely interested in to ride more upright. The Euphree City Robin X is a gorgeous bike and has everything I'm looking for in a bike including what appears to be great customer service - but I'm torn between their use of a cadence vs torque sensor. I've never ridden either so for my needs - will I notice the difference between the 2 sensor systems? The Aventon Level.2 is an upgrade from this Pace 500.3 BUT doesn't have the handlebar configuration I'm looking for...can the Level 2's handle bars be swapped out for the one they use on the Pace? Do you recommend any other models to research? Thanks for your input - if I decide to buy online vs retail - I will definitely be using your affiliate code...
@stephenriggs8177 Жыл бұрын
There are a couple of things I'm curious about, comparing the Level 2 to the 500.3. 1) How big a deal is it that the rear derailer isn't as good? 2) I've heard reviewers say they'd prefer a less-aggressive first gear than what the Level 2 offers, but given that this one has only 4 speed assist levels, versus 5, it's hard to imagine that curve being flatter than that of the Level 2. What have you noticed? I like those integrated blinkers, and I'm wondering if any combination of seat post, stem and handlebar revisions can match the Pace riding position.
@Steveoreno Жыл бұрын
Aventon should offer the step-through in the same colors as offered with the step-over. Anyone with an aversion to the old "girls bike" stigma with that frame style would certainly be turned off by the very feminine colors offered with the step-through . The swept back cruiser type handlebars caused a great deal of pressure on my ulnar nerve of my right hand making my outer three fingers and right palm go numb after just a few miles. I adjusted it in every conceivable with no success so I installed a different set of bars that were slightly wider and a bit less sweep...perfect, no more problems. The Pace is a great bike, especially for the $$ and Aventon's customer service is second to none...very polite and responsive. Love the company and their line-up. My next ebike will be an Aventon ...probably a Pace 500.7 LOL.

Weight is a huge factor for me because of the height of my rack. The Pace 3.0 is 52lbs as listed on the Aventon website. The Level 2 with all the accessories is a better deal but Aventon list it at 62lbs, not 54lbs as you mentioned. Do you know which one is correct?

I want the Level.2 for the front suspension, larger battery and rack. However I hate the colors and I prefer the handle bars on the 500.3. I will probably end up with the 500.3 and end up spending more than the Level.2 to customize it. If the Level.2 had that same blue it would be a no brainer.
