What is the most affordable belt drive cargo bike?
@jasondelarosa5457Сағат бұрын
Always opt for a chain anyway for the ease of changing gear ratios but understand most people dont.

Thanks for posting this video. I have the HD 1UP rack and the Letric 3.0. My fix to the rear fender was to trim off 4-5" of material & move the fender bracket to sit a bit higher so the bent arm can securely stabilize the rear tire.

Great video. So do you think the belt drive is really worth getting on this small bike?
@EbikeEscape5 сағат бұрын
I don't think there is anything that makes it less attractive because the bike is small. I think for $100 extra, it's a no brainer but I am heavily bias to any belt drive ebike. Thanks for watching!

I really want the black, but I don't think I want a belt drive. I never have issues with my chains. The belt will be expensive to swap when or if it breaks. a chain isn't that much of an issue.. sucks I can't get black with a chain now.

@EbikeEscape hey when bleeding the brakes do we only need to do 1 of the leavers for the whole system or will this prosses need to be done on both hand brakes? sorry I'm new to this thank you

Weighing this one very seriously, Ryan. I was considering the Portola, however ... I have an XPTrike, but it is so cumbersome for little trips around this small town full of potholes. If I do pull the trigger, one the bright side, I have both tow bars for the pup cart. They sent the one for a two-wheeler, then sent a freebie for the Trike configuration. I really do like the looks and features on this one. Trust you guys and your reviews and advice!

Just bought one the other day I have to adjust the back airshock the ride has been a little stiff once I adjust that I’m sure it’ll be one smooth ride, but I love it. I also purchased saddlebags so I can carry a beverage of my choice

Ride1up is a very dishonest and corrupt company to buy from if you don't live in the US . I bought one their bikes on-line , since I live in Canada they charged me $100 US for shipping outside of the US. They said in their written policies that there may be extra custom duties and taxes, which I accepted and understood at the time of the purchase. After a week of getting the bike I got a billing an invoice from Fedex for $260 CAD, shocked to say the least. On the invoice it stated that they (Fedex) picked up the bike directly from their (Ride1up) warehouse in Salt Lake City UT. in the States I called Ride1up to ask why was I charged $!00 US ($135 CAD) when none of that money went toward the shipping cost, not a penny ? They just made the excuse thats what they do for purchase buyers outside of the US. No straight forward answer or explanation to the reason why. So they will not charge buyers for shipping costs and pay completely if you live in the US. direct from their warehouse. While I was talking to the support staff, I asked why didn't that $100 US go toward the shipping cost that I was charged ?, he couldn't come up with a honest explanation. So in total for shipping, taxes and duties fees, I had to pay $395 CAD for a bike that cost $1,100 US . What a dishonest corrupt company . The commercial crime investigators should look into this company to their practices because they're charging people $100 US for nothing and pocketing it illegally.

Great review! I have a belt drive bike but it was way more expensive than this one. I have to say if you hate getting grease on your hands, the noise of a chain, the constant adjustments, the worry of rust and the cost of replacement it’s an absolute no brainer! I have not made an adjustment on my belt drive bike in over 3500 miles and getting a belt drive for only $100 at this price point is a real bargain.

Typically not needed unless the wheel needs to be trued or there is a click sound from the wheels. A bike shop can verify though.

The most important thing I was looking for in a folding bike is the weight and then the price. My current folding e-bike (3.0) is just too heavy for this 65 year old woman to lift. This lighter weight bike will allow me to keep it stored in my TT and easy for me to lift it out when I get to the camp grounds😊

I’m looking for a folding bike that can pull a burley or has a passenger seat for a 4-7 year old. Great review but missed on the key to these vs others for parents
@EbikeEscapeКүн бұрын
Both have the Thule window though your kiddos might be too big. Both have passener kits. Burley compatibility is tricky due to the uniqueness of each ebike (we have a video showing more of a custom solution). Check out Aventon - their trailer is compatible with their ebikes.

I wouldn't recommend this bike. They advertise it as a 750w motor. But the motor on the bike is only a 500w.
@EbikeEscapeКүн бұрын
It's 750 watt sustained - so should be peaking even higher.
@DisgruntledAirmenКүн бұрын
No. I have one. The motor keeps burning out. I took the information off the motor and contacted Bafang. They told me that its a 500w motor.@EbikeEscape
@DisgruntledAirmenКүн бұрын
The information on the motor is "RM G040.500.DC" if you look up that hub motor on bafang. They tell you it's a 500w motor and it's torque is 60n.m

I had a question about the P22 setting at 13:09: when you set the value to "2", the PAS level stays the same as at value 0, but the speed limit goes up to 20mph. Does that mean that if you're on PAS 1 or PAS 2, if you pedal faster, you can get up to 20mph but it uses the same amount of amps? Does this mean it's kind of mimicking a torque sensor, in that the more I pedal, the faster I can go? How does that feel when compared to a torque sensor? Thanks!
@EbikeEscapeКүн бұрын
So it's still a cadence sensor so as long as you're pedaling you will get however many amps related to the PAS level. It is better than the speed based pedal assist though. More than likely you can get to 20 mph in any setting (or close), it's just going to depend how fast you want to get there. Of course you pedaling harder will impact the speed, it just won't impact how much power the motor is giving you.

The belt drive plus the pinion gear concept: I hope to see that develop into taller wheel models integrated with a rear hub drive. 'Dual Adventure E-bikes w/o the 4.0" wheel concept; (installing a narrower wheel, but will be adaptable for all road and all terrain bike riding.). As a woman who began biking at the age of 2...my build concepts are much better than what is presently on the US market.

So happy for the Electric Bike Co being rated and included. I decided on that one. Many customizable options! You can even get a seat with a back rest and smaller 24 inch wheels for short riders. Colors as you want so much fun to design on their website. Plus maybe they escape tariffs on imports as they are in SF
