Umuahia may not have the kind of structure that Owerri has but i'll rate it higher just based on the good roads and cleanliness. Owerri just needs same to compete with Enugu as the best city in Igboland. I wonder when the Abia state government will extend the same gesture to Aba.

I was in Umuahia in 2006, as a state capital of an oil state it looks just like any other place in Nigeria, in fact Ebonyi state appears to be the most developed out of the southeastern states, albeit without oil revenues. What are Abia state doing with its oil resources, it is certainly not in human capital or infrastructural development. The only evidence of Abia state oil wealth in the pockets of all ex-politicians who come and shout one indivisible Nigeria whilst they are lining their pockets with our commonwealth, they give their poor followers religion with a promise to go to heaven. They keep on repeating the same lies, with time it tends to be true, not until you visit the places. With what i can see here I'm impressed, never anticipated such in Abia state. I can categorically tell you Umuahia is neater, finer, developed and more organised than Awka and Onitsha town put together. Awka should be converted to another town and create another capital city well organised on a virgin land because it dosen't look like a anything close to capital, Apart from Federal road that transverse through Aroma to kwata junction. others are considered local narrow roads with sand dunes and littered with refuse. But they will be the first to call you names because of envy and jealousy that you're ahead of them. Obiano is as a good as noting..😁

Also, show us the Government college Umuahia, which produced many prominent figures in Nigeria. PEDESTRIANS also have a right of way, and deserve SIDEWALKS on all streets, not just the odd major road, plus covered drains, not open gutters in this day and age for goodness' sake. It is very unfair to build asphalt roads for cars while pedestrians have to walk along the sand near open gutters with the possibility of getting hit by cars. Are pedestrians not taxpayers too? Why is infrastructure spending not targeting them, but just car drivers? Very unfair. Even worse is the people who come in here praising this substandard nonsense. No wonder the leaders won't do the right thing. The people themselves know no better, and are happy with the mediocre infrastructure. Disgraceful.
