I have suggested the marketing of the airport by the Ebonyi State Transportaion/Aviation Department(s) and the Ebonyi Tourism Board if they exist in Abakaliki. Another strategy would be to arrange with airline owners and see if they could help out by coming to Ebonyi Airport through Enugu, What that means is this, any airline coming to Enugu Airport from Lagos and Abuja could also take passengers going to Abakaliki, so that on getting to Enugu, and discharging the Enugu bound passengers, the Abakaliki passengers are taken to Abakaliki, the aircraft picks Lagos and/or Abuja bound passengers from Ebonyi Airport, take the to Enugu. Picks people in Enugu and off to Abuja or Lagos. This is called "Servicing". For example, Air France takes passengers from Paris and from other connections, flies them to Lagos or Abuja, and then "service" to Port Harcourt, for passengers from Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom Cross River and Rivers States and others who boarded the flight. Lufthansa (German Airline) does the same, from Frankfurt Germany to Lagos, and "service" to Port Harcourt".

Your points are valid Darlington. Erecting buildings in Nigeria is not a problem but maintenance and services. I wish citizens voices can be heard but it's unfortunate that our opinions don't count. I don't know why the airport is not fully in operation but if I can meet the right person I will enquire to know why. I pray the airport doesn't end as abandoned project. 🙏 I really appreciate your time

Good airport but the décor should have used a brownish design rug which will hide the dirts and foot prints and not red.
@TessyinAustralia

You're right ✅️ I believe it would be changed with time when they see the need. Maybe the red rug is just for decoration as new airport. Carpet grass is even the best

Nice job, I think the reason why the management is still poor is because of the free flight offered by the governor you know nigerians are not good at giving free things, I was surprised when someone said that all his effort to secure a ticket to ebonyi was proved abortive they told him that the flight was fully booked for three days where as the flight that landed there in the ebonyi airport was just only 10 passengers on board I said wow! Naija na naija.

This is so poorly made, so very sad to see! I am seeing bumpy roads and uneven surfaces on a road that has not yet been subjected to daily use! Umahi really misspent money here! Money wasted here would have been better spent on job creation in manufacturing and industry!
@TessyinAustralia
@TessyinAustralia 11 ай бұрын
It is well I pray they will invest on the people of the state because they are industrious and most are learned
@aframaco9491
@aframaco9491 11 ай бұрын
@@TessyinAustralia Yes I agree, I can believe that there are learned people in Ebonyi, but the investment money that should have been spent on the people has been spent rather vainly on a needless airport! At this particular time, Abakaliki is not an industrial hub, it is not a financial hub, it is not a manufacturing hub or a tourist destination or even an agricultural centre! Building an airport that might be minimally busy perhaps only at Christmas time is not the wisest decision Umahi has made! Airfares, we all know are not cheap! We have no national carrier in Nigeria, so what private airlines are going to fly to Abakaliki? Airlines are there to make money! Abakaliki is a non destination at this time! The better idea would have been to build a solid expressway from Ebonyi to neighbouring Enugu and then initiate a well established and well run luxurious bus service that would run schedules between Abakaliki and Enugu! Instead of trying to rival each other, the states in the south east (in particular) should be collaborating extensively with each other to strengthen the region! Anyway, this airport is here now , but it bound to be redundant for a very long time! Mark my words! 👊🏾🇳🇬!
