Sung with so much emotion and passion. It’s the same song as Autumn Strong. He first sang it in the 2017 at the Singer competition in China. Autumn Strong has completely different lyrics and is in Chinese. ❤️

You are thinking of Autumn Strong that he sang on Singer. Same melody, different lyrics. That one was written and performed in Mandarin. This one is the original sung in Japanese. I like this one better..which do you like

The song is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. She became famous in China. However, once the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy and she was deported back to Japan and didn't go back to China for many years, as it was forbidden at that time. Ms Yamaguchi did return to China in her later years as the Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister of Environment. This song is saying goodbye to her Chinese name Li Xianglan. The song is a metaphor, as lyrics speak of how a person has to hide what feels inside.
