EC light won't turn off on Mercedes clk230 !!!simple FIX DIy air conditioning

This works perfectly in 7 steps, but perhaps I can explain it more easily in written instructions - based on this video, which was actually really helpful (thanks Khawaja): 1 • Set temperature on both sides to HI. 2 • Set to Auto (by pressing each Auto button) on both sides. 3 • Take key out of ignition. 4 • Put key in and turn ignition on - second position, so that all dashboard lights are on and Climate Control unit is on with the red light showing on EC button. DO NOT START ENGINE. 5 • Turn key to off position. 6 • Start engine. 7• Touch EC button and the red light will go out. The action of the light red light going out means that the airconditioning compressor is starting. Simples!

Everything on my climate controls work. It's just the ec Light keeps coming on. Someone said that if you coolant is very low this, can happen too.

"Wow" really great info that worked like a dream and only took me a few minutes. Gave feedback to AC company that regased ( but failed to del error codes ) now wants the info from me which i will gladly send .

It works. And it stays off, until I turn the car back off. But every time I turn the car back on, it stay on, until I perform the procedure again😏.

The last final steps you went to quickly and I couldn't hear how it light shut off. Did you close the engine off completely and then turn on engine again??

I have similiar scenario. However, I have both AUTO buttons red light on as well as EC button. I can't shut off the EC button. I try to follow your steps. It still doesn't shut off. I notice yours video only have EC button issue. Do I need to shut off the Auto buttons? Do I need to put climate to HI? Please reply if possible. I have no A/C right now. I believe the EC light is causing issue and can't close it.

Doesn't this EC light come on in order to protect the compressor when there isn't enough fluid? If you turn it off like this, aren't you possibly going to ruin your compressor?

It didin’t work for myn clk w208 cabrio, But I figured other trick. If you turn your key to on potions so that all lamp turn on, step on your gas pedal kickdown And hold it 5 secondes. After turn your key to off And pull it out And Wait 2 minutes. Whit this trick you reset the ECU. When you go try this trick evrething in your car most me off radio Doors lights etc... EC light turned off but its still not blow cold air And after 10 minutes the red light come back. I guess I hafe not enoug airco gaz presure. I need to go to feull new airco gaz . 😔Good luck

I think you have a problem with your brake switch and need to replace it.

Rokyi Fethi start the car and turn ur steering wheel all the way to the left hold it there for 10sec and all the way to the right for 10sec and then back so they are strait and wait for a minute the lights should go out.
