Yupp I agree. Adapters just take up more space too. Especially in some of these battery bays that are already small.

Yes you end up with wires folded over and bulky plus the hit you take on stacking connectors

I've been soldering for 60 years, so you might want to read what I have to say. - You shouldn't fill the connector cup with solder beforehand. You should never reheat solder; it makes the flux evaporate and the solder won't flow properly. You shouldn't try to stab the wire into the cup. We saw what can happen when you do that. Plus, it's not good to hold the wire with your fingers while the solder solidifies. You can't hold it still enough. Use a jig - for the connector and the wire. I don't put any solder in the cup. I tin the wire, hold the end with wire strippers, and pull the insulation back just a little with my fingernails so that when I stick the wire in the empty cup, there's enough wire showing above the cup that I can touch the tip of the lightly tinned iron to the wire and the top of the cup at the same time. Once the wire and cup are hot enough to melt the solder, I feed solder until the cup is filled. When I stop feeding solder, I take the iron away. After the solder cools, I pull the insulation back down to the cup. Also, you shouldn't use a tapered, pointy tip on your iron. Use a broader chisel tip which won't cool down when you touch it to the heavy wire.
