I disagree. Isn’t ED50 the dose of drug required to produce an effect in 50% of the population?

I had the same reflexion, i'm student in Geneva University and my profesor defined the ED50 like you

Yes true 👍 ED 50 is referred to the dose which is required to produce pharmacological effect in half of the test population.

both are true, he is talking about one subject ED50 (when the dose can be graded up or down in one subject) and you're talking about a population ED50 (when the dose have all or none response and can't be graded so you study a population instead on one subject).
