Hello Adrian, I followed your lead and went ahead and subscribe to Ecamm Live Pro to use it with Zoom. However, after following your instructions, the virtual cam does not appear on zoom. It seems like it doesn't work with zoom.

I have the virtual camera set up as the return feed for my remote guest so they can see the broadcast, however I'm having trouble sending an audio return. I have some playback that I would like the guests to see and comment on. What is the process for sending the ecamm audio along with the virtual camera?

there is a free software called "Black Hole" that will allow you to send audio via Ecamm to Zoom. Search KZbin for "Ecamm Live audio to zoom meetings" and watch the webinar. It worked for me.

You can’t send audio via Ecamm, check out Loopback, it’s an app that can send the audio quite easily.

I'm not seeing the Ecamm option in the Zoom settings so that the picture in Ecamm shows in the Zoom meeting. I am using the trial version which allows me to try the virtual camera, but do I need to purchase the Pro version of Ecamm for the virtual camera to work in Zoom?

No it will work. Maybe restart your computer, then open Ecamm and make sure the virtual cam is on, then open Zoom and it should be there. Make sure both Ecamm and Zoom are up to date too.

Hi Adrian...I followed the instructions and the virtual cam is installed just fine in eCamm. I have closed the app and restarted it. I have also closed and restarted Zoom, but the virtual cam is not in the drop down list on Zoom. I'm using V3.6.0 of eCamm. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

Have you turned zoom off and in again so Ecamm was already open? You have the virtual cam icon at the top left of your main Ecamm window?

I thought the whole point of Ecamm live was that it was a virtual cam. I don't understand this virtual cam feature - what difference does it make? I was also under the impression that to livestream from Ecamm live or Zoom you needed the Pro Ecamm live account. Is this still the case in June 2020? Many thanks :)

Why doesn't the virtual cam appear in Zoom after hooking up my Canon M50 and installing virtual cam? I see it in ECamm Live but no selection in Zoom?

This is the app not the website isn't it? Not sure but I'd do the usual, make sure you're on the latest versions of both, restart, open Ecamm first and make sure virtual cam is on then open zooom. Might be worth trying another output like Skype to see where the fault is. Hope that helps. If all else fails contact Ecamm through their site 👍 BTW great videos 😉

I have downloaded Ecamm Pro version. I have installed the Virtual Camera feature. When I open Zoom it doesn't seem to recognise Ecamm in the camera input box. Do you have any suggestion as to why this could be. I am using Macbook Pro with Mojave 10.14.6.

Is this the Zoom app or web based version? It needs to be the app. Otherwise it should work. Make sure they're both up to date.

I have tried this (have pro). Was able to get virtual cam installed and showing in ecamm. But I cannot see this as a camera option in Zoom... any suggestions? Edit: i just saw that the newer version of Zoom doesn’t support virtual cameras. Must use the older version.

Hi Adrian, when I enable virtual cam, for some reason my Zoom doesn't recognise camera. Its the latest version of Zoom updated end of May. I have tried opening virtual cam and restarting Zoom, but still no recognition of camera. Camera easily recognised by Ecamm through Blackmagic mini fed into thunderbird port. Could it be that zoom is not recognising thunderbird port? However wont even recognise my Facetime camera in the Imac through Ecamm - only directly into zoom itself. Any ideas please?

Hey, great tutorial! I have purchased Ecamm pro version and I also have a zoom premium app but I tried putting on a virtual cam option on ecamm and then went on zoom preference settings to change video output but it's just showing me facetime HD cam option, I don't see ecam virtual cam option. Question @Adrian Sailsbury - when I follow these steps Zoom doesn't play my background music and sound effects from EcammLive. I only was able to project music through the Zoom screen-share feature, but that has reduced the overall quality drastically. Am I doing it wrong or is it a compatibility issue?

Adrian, first, thanks for all the wonderfulness of Ecamm. 😊 Second, I have used the virtual camera with Zoom with some success, but I'm confused about something. I thought that when using Ecamm in this way, if I am screen sharing with Ecamm and I'm working with another application (scrolling through a PDF in Preview, for example) I should have a miniaturized Ecamm control window to work with, but that's not happening. Or is that only the case when Ecamm itself is live streaming?? Thank you!

Glen told me to download NDI software so it will show up as another camera source, but I'm looking for lower third overlay titling information over a live camera, in addition to full screen images from that computer. Can Ecamm Live do that?

Zoom flips the screen so that left and right make sense when you are watching yourself. There is a setting to turn off mirroring.

I have been struggling with this. Much apparently depends on the Zoom account (whether HD is enabled, for example). Many comments on it in different forums. OBS has the same issue, so it is on the Zoom side.

Thx for the video Adrian, works like a charm! Question: when I try running Ecamm Live + Zoom my MBPs CPU (2016 3,3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 with 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3) is already struggling. I've shut down most other apps and Activity Monitor shows that both Zoom and Ecamm have high CPU usage. I also have a Elgato Streamdeck connected and changing an overlay or switching camera now takes over 5 seconds. Any suggestions on how to make either app more CPU friendly? FYI: Ecamm isn't even streaming or recording anything, it's only using the virtual cam function.

@@youngdavidoo not really. My final "solution" has been to build a windows desktop pc that has the power to do video conferencing, recording and streaming/encoding at the same time. I'm using it with OBS (there is no ecamm live for windows). Don't think it would've ever worked with my MacBook since its not powerful enough.... And the desktop pc was much cheaper then a high end MacBook (of which I actually wouldn't know if it would do a decent job at all these things at the same time since none of the MacBooks has NVENC).

Windows/Camera Effects opens up the tab then tick greenscreen and adjust the fade level to get the best result.

Hi Adrian, I just wanted to let you know that I fixed the problem with ecamm and zoom using virtual cam. One of the recent releases changed some settings in Zoom and this executing this command on terminal fixes the issues. "codesign --remove-signature /Applications/zoom.us.app/". It's now working!.
