i believe sta se smijete (chto smejetes in rusian) rather would be ""why are you laughing" - literally "what (are you) laughing self". that's for "word to word", aha. interesting is that stani malo is literally understandable (both are just regular rusian words as well) but only when the meaning is already known, we wouldnt say it like that (stan malo or stantie malo). that would rather be ostanovites (zaustavite se?) or even podozhdite (or zachekajte in polonized west-rusian). to really pass the malo part you would only have to say something like podozhdite sekundu (ili minutu) (wate a second) or something. in real word that actually only results in "sekundochku!" or ''minutku!' - a temporal deminutive with the verb stripped. or is that malo rather about priostanovites (obustavite or zastanite se)? oh, another real life verb would be pogodite (it's not for guess but for wate one again).
