Besides the possibilities Jocko talked about on why it's not sinking in with subordinates/superiors when you are presenting something, another possibility is not that your idea isn't good, it could be that your idea is good, but that you aren't doing a good job communicating it. Same. My default setting is offering solutions to problems that accommodate my personal bias and how I would solve it - which doesn't fit into or agree with the context or the other person's preference or what their problem actually is. I forget to factor in that their rituals and preferences are not the same as mine.

Wanting to "Win" an argument is all ego, you should find out if they have or can come up with the same ideas as you by asking questions and listening that may lead them to the same conclusions as you and then it feels like you both came up with the idea together and there was no individual winning, just a team win 👌

Another thought: They didn't fully listen to what you said, OR you didnt communicate it well. Happens a lot. Use the EEM to see if they understood your idea by asking them questions. Frequently, I explain my thought or plan, only to have them suggest the same idea in different words. That shows me that i am not communicating effectively.

When I explain something but I’m explaining it in a way that I’m really bitching, it not as receptive. Had a Isreali military guy explain set expectation from the start. However, how can you be like that in a get go military type mentality towards subordinates? Especially 20 Year old females.

Maybe, but this explanation omits that some people are less educated or have lower critical thinking skills while not just being dumb. His 99% estimate is a bit much, but sure. Always be open to revisit your plans.

My plan is very good all smooth headed. No one wants to get on board. And it could get very bad for you know legally and my mom is the most important thing and that is the absolute priority. Very bad title, it's not what the video is about. Great video anyway. Just a comment: they say there are three sources of resistance: 1) I don't get it - they resist because they don't understand your idea. Then you keep explaining. 2) I don't like it - they understand completely but they have counter arguments or counter emotions. Then you have to LISTEN - even if you don't change your plan ultimately, you have to listen and understand what they have to say. And then the third one: I don't like YOU. That kind of resistance is a bit trickier to overcome. But that still starts with honestly listening to them.

Or.... everyone pushing back is too stupid to understand the brilliant idea. Quentin Tarantino couldn't sell his Screenplay to anyone at first. Why? He didn't want to bend or corrupt his ideas to fit into Hollywood. People always oppose me & never have facts to debate, they have opinions that oppose me that aren't justified or valid with any rational facts. Sometimes, there is a minority person who is the smartest in the room. Your logic is flawed here. You need rational feedback & push back. Not stupid ideas as push back.
