Beautiful design work ladies..I love succulents but have trouble keeping them alive. After listening to you, I think I'm watering them too often.
@FreePlantsForever8 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yep, they thrive on neglect (and light) water really only once they start to look a little wrinkled and are completely dry. 💚

Please could you share the video the what Cain the soil you use for the succulents and cactus

THANK YOU so much for your videos!! Your love of these succulents just inspires me!! I'm recently propagating my own leaves...when do you water them? I have just transferred the new growth (with their mother leaves) to their own small pot with the succulent soil & have just "misted" them with a spray bottle...🤷♀️😁

Awww.... thank you for watching! And so happy to help inspire propagating 🥰 My advice with all succulents is water rarely, but when you do, water deep! I make sure the soil is completely dried out and then will soak it so that the leaves replenish their moisture, then I leave it alone until the soil is really, fully dried out again. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I guess I need to find a container that I can soak the whole pot in like your glass bowl. I actually saw one at a thrift shop...wonder if it's still there 🤔 😅

Loved the video. Very informative. What kind of sedum did you use in your arrangement?
@FreePlantsForever8 ай бұрын
I believe it's called Sedum Cascade, but it also might be Coral Carpet (however it's never turned red for me). I actually got it as part of a pack of mixed sedums in a tray from Home Depot, and it's the only one that thrived and has lived on to propagate over and over. Very hardy and fast growing!

I have a bunch of leaves that have just begun sprouting in my propagation tray. When do I plant them into pots? Do I water at all before I transfer them? Currently the leaves are still plump and. They just have tiny pink roots growing from the ends.
@FreePlantsForever5 ай бұрын
How exciting, I love when the leaves just do their thing! When my leaves sprout roots, I usually lay them flat on soil and then let the roots find their way to the soil, as opposed to "planting" them. Little baby pup plants should start to come out of the leaf, and that way they're already planted. I'd give them a little spritz of water once they're laying on the soil, but no need to water before then. I made a video about different ways to do leaf propagations, maybe it can be helpful! kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4HcZp59iZuMnpY

Hi, for your propagation station do you ever mist or shower water over the tray? Or leave completely dry?
@FreePlantsForever2 ай бұрын
I generally leave it completely dry, I will only water once the leaves have grown roots into the soil, then I will water

I got an echeveria leaf from Lowe's a month ago. I've put it into a pot (unglazed terracotta)with my aloe on my porch (West facing) and it has just sat there and done nothing. I only water it about once a week and never get water on the echeveria. Any idea what might be going on? I'm in North Central Louisiana zone 8b.
@FreePlantsForever8 ай бұрын
Sometimes it just take a while, and sometimes, unfortunately it doesn't work. Let's hope this one is just being slow! Definitely don't get it in direct sunlight, but also Echeveria come out of dormancy in the summer, so hopefully it will start growing soon.
