All this new age Gear / Rigging device's plus your typical new climber doesn't get that self taught knowledge from the older generation of climbers. Can't speak for everyone new climbing these days & basically what I mean is that it would be nice for the newer climbers these days to either watch videos like this but it's (better learned in the field), rather then watching but still this just shows what it use to take to get the job done rather now it's what will I use to get the job done today. Much love and hope everyone is safe. I love these videos and will always take any advice or knowledge on things that I've never mastered and never will. 💯 💪🏽 Love seeing your son climb as well Buck! He will forever tell story's of his father long after you put your last spike/spur in a tree! 🙏🏼🤘🏼With alot of love from Myrtle beach Sc USA @BG @Mr Ds Trees & Landscaping

Thanks for the lessons and the example you set. I told an 80 year old widow yesterday about your channel. We were there removing a 190ft cottonwood that fell from her neighbors property on to hers. She asked us if we would low cut some apple tree stumps and buck the wood that her hired help left. When she tried paying us, I said this ones on Kanaskat TS and told her we were part of the Buckin Army. She loved it.

As an Aussie. The most amazing thing to me is how soft your timber is. I’m sure plenty of people comment on you should rig this way or that. But I’m a firm believer in what works for you as long as those around you are safe then that’s all that really matters at the end of the day
@TheDennys21

@@BuckinBillyRaySmith but you tell the viewers “this is how you do it’. Not too smart showing people how to use their gear wrong. Think you need to rewatch the part where you say “this is how you do it” as your rigging it with your climbing line then almost let them know that it’s wrong but stop. A climber would know that this is absolutely not the way you do it. Peroid. Shows your caribiner, hitch climber rigged up at the top as you start rigging the tree up with your climbing line. This is going to get someone hurt. Just sad that you’re acting like your showing all these people how to take trees down and you break one of the biggest rules in tree falling. I have watched hours of your videos sometimes with my kids. You have even acknowledged us on a few live chats. But this is video was done in poor taste as your showing others how to do it. Not how you do it. One should never show others how to work dangerous in the tree. Make it right and fix this video as the rest of it was great.

Completely agree. Every climber should do time on the ground before they start climbing. Means that when they do climb they’ll think about the groundsmen more that just causing chaos for them.

Yep. I had no idea I wanted to be a climber until I got a summer groundsman's job at 16 years old. Then I seen this guy up in a tree roping limbs down and I knew what I wanted to do. The main thing I'll do to help my groundies is let them move brush out the way before dropping tons of logs on top of all the limbs because I know that a pain for those guys because I've been there.

I think someone else mentioned it - please tell Hogan to use a quickie link, or delta link for cinching his life line. When the tree diameter gets small, it will be too much force on the side of the aluminum carabiner. Especially if he slips and shock loads it. This is pretty common practice and he can see examples all over KZbin. Climb safely, fellas.

I can't say I know how you feel, but I feel your pain. My mom called me on March 21st , asked if I would take her to hospital, by April 9th she was gone.....cancer. Just never know when it's time to go. Take care, Blaine!
