Thanks for the review. Was looking for a battery powered saw, and watched another channel's review from a couple years ago where the older Echo came out on top. I ordered the saw and then realized the video was 2 years old, and watched your video with the new Echo E Force comparing it to the 58V. I cancelled my order for the 58V Echo and ordered the Echo E-Force. Thanks for the multiple reviews and comparison vids. I just subscribed to your channel. I appreciate the hard work!

That's very impressive for a battery powered chainsaw.
@sirsweetness83322 жыл бұрын
These battery powered saws are surprisingly powerful and long lasting. I cut a 18” tree down and cut it all up and still had 2 bars on battery.

This looks like a very capable saw. It did quite well, especially going through Oak.

Echo definitely doesn't get the recognition that they deserve!like the battery operated line line of tools. Also I own a cs 590 and it's a excellent saw!

I just got mine the other day. It was a tough choice. I wanted to go with the ego but i like the traditional way of installing and tightening the chain. Im out in below zero weather alot when working and i dont know how well those plastic knobs tighteners would hold up. An
@Gideon_Judges62 жыл бұрын
To be fair some of the Stihls actually do that plastic crank thing too, but I agree so I don't like it either.

Thanks for the video! Watching you cut those larger logs I realize the gas chainsaw is obsolete for most. Watching you put the battery in, top off the oil and go without worrying about bad gas, fumes, and the noise from a gasser makes me wonder why anyone who doesn't need a gas saw would buy one. Each generation of battery-powered equipment will only get better.
@WilliamsonRidge2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the battery saws are really coming along, especially for the occasional user, still aren’t to the point of all day firewooding but very nice.
@jimzeleny72132 жыл бұрын
Gas chainsaw obsolete? I don't think so. Run time 6-8 minutes. Sorry but I work longer than that when cutting firewood.
@CTSCAPER2 жыл бұрын
@@jimzeleny7213 Hey Jim, we all do things differently. The convenience of the electric saw is, quite frankly, convenient. The portability and power of a gasser is convenient too. 10 years ago I would say keep the gasser and forget about a battery saw. Nowadays there are times a battery saw is the better option.

Kinda looks like they use the dogs from the echo cs3510. If it is the same mount Westcoast saws makes an upgraded set of felling dogs for that saw.
@Danmc-li3pg Жыл бұрын
Just bought this one. 1st 30 minutes of cutting, the chain bound up and came off. One link is stuck and doesn’t move. Won’t fit on the saw now. Waiting for Echo before I return it. The saw was doing pretty good before this happened.
@WilliamsonRidge Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve had saws throw the chain before and damage a link, not saying this is what happened, but it usually happened to me if I let the chain get to loose and it would get in a bit of a bind and jump right off sometimes damaging it.

The 58V model got great reviews, so I was disappointed when I found it discontinued everywhere. That's when I found out it was superceded by the 56V here.
@MrHrKaidoOjamaaVKJV2 жыл бұрын
Good insightful review. This new Battery-powered electric chainsaw looks like it was smartly practically designed. However I still think the EGO 18 icher offers more features. Do you see any improvement in power with this newer model? Do you think we will ever see 20 inch bar battery-electric chainsaws? What is your verdict on this new battery chainsaw? Wishing you safe adventures and journeys.
@WilliamsonRidge2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I believe it has a little more torque to pull through larger wood, the old 58v had a really high top speed but not as much power. I definitely think someone will come out with a 20” version especially since some states are banning small engines and are going to leave them no choice but to go electric. Overall I really like this saw it feels really well made cuts nice and the battery lasts a good while.
@MrHrKaidoOjamaaVKJV2 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamsonRidge That's good to hear about your impressions of this new capable model. What do you know about the EGO 18 Inch or the McColough Commercial series in comparison? I think if this Battery Technology can still further improve there will 20 inch bar models coming out.
@WilliamsonRidge2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have any experience with the Ego or McColough, I do have a Milwaukee m18 atlas 40 and 80v echo 58v, and I believe the echo 56v is possibly near the top of not at the top of those, just from stuff I’ve seen I would say it is pretty comparable with the ego line. Ego has really stepped it up over the last few years.

Is this a professional grade saw?
@WilliamsonRidge2 жыл бұрын
No this saw is still in Echo’s consumer grade, they have other products in the 56v line that are in the x-series or professional series, so I look for them to come out with a larger saw in that pro series.

I’m ex railway track tree clearing felling operator climbing included,gang off 8 or more some time walking up to about 2-3 miles to first tree , everything carried saws fuel climbing equipment saws round about 80 cc ground work, gang members would carry about 50-60 lbs of equipment each,( like marines ) shifts round about 12 hrs at least 4 felling saws 2 climbing saws ,do you see what I’m getting at that would be a lot of battery,each ground op would actually have saw running around 6-7 hr .there’s no doubt they have a work place but not in that rough environment, we would be expected to replace clutch and piston if ness during dinner break, I’ve got quite a collection of saws am now seriously looking at getting my first cord less because of serious injuries I find it difficult to pull start ,it’s embarrassing asking for help! Probably be a STIHL also fed up with lumber across cycling track been using me trusty ole silky ,besides injuries I’m getting old 70 next year if I make it.what I’m looking forward to less noise definitely no FUMES not just the working but spills no need to carry spill mat using the correct chain oil can work near customers fish ponds noise wise near bird cages, any where noise is a possible problem, they have got plenty of advantage over petroleum fuelled saws!? Happy sawing to you all,especially the guy in charge.

Hope you find the battery saw that suites you I think you will be surprised at what they are capable of, at least until the battery goes dead, lol. The battery saws definitely would not be good to pack in and run all day with the amount of batteries you would need, to much weight, gas would definitely prevail in your situation, but for the average homeowner just doing an occasional tree or clearing some trails they work out pretty good. Thanks for watching.

It does have similarities but it’s not the same I have both, the echo offers a 5 year consumer warranty on it though, and HF you have to purchase a longer warranty which eats into that lower price point by quite a bit.

I don’t know if it’s completely true, but the new versions (5000) that are out May 1, claim to be “made in the USA” (source ACME tools), that alone gets the “sold”,… All other electrics are “China” (possibly Husqvarna - Sweden), if you hard working Americans believe your getting things cheaper from China you need to become educated, it’s pay me now or pay me later”,….And if you guys want to be ostriches, and don”t care about your children or the future of this country - That’s fine, but don’t claim to love it!
