I've been using the previous generation 58v trimmers for several years now with my commercial lawn service. I have trimmed thousands of lawns with the previous gen trimmers and absolutely love them. I'm excited for this new lineup!

I've been using the DPS 2100 for my spring maintenance for my residential clients. It has really good performance using it with the hedge trimmer, with the 2.5 amp hour battery it's feather light and I don't miss having to fill up the tank with gas. The cutting out is fairly annoying I wish it had some sort of built-in clutch that would slip a little rather than cutting out.

My PAS trimmer really handles the load. I can do 75 feet of hedge in minutes as the HT attachment blades are the best around and I've tried them all. I don't have to go back and clean up missed branches either. Highly recommend Echo's rechargeable PAS systems.

I find that it doesn't just perform well. It's also more enjoyable to run than a gas-powered unit

The cut out of power you described is actually the battery stopping power to the the electric motor. It's a built in safety to protect the both the battery and motor, this might sound crazy but once you use up around 10% of the battery capacity it won't have this issue. Fully charged batteries will trip the safety most often, or at least that's how the previous generation echo battery powered tools work.

I'm planning to purchase my first trimmer and haven't made up my mind to go battery or gas as yet. I really like the battery powered trimmer but I guess I'm afraid. How durable have you found them?

@@ianpollard4501 I've been using these echo battery trimmers for years with my lawn service company. I've yet to have a weed eater completely stop working, the one with the most usage is not as smooth as it was when new and the bearings make more noise. But that trimmer has 4 seasons on it and trims around 750 lawns per season. That trimmer has more usage than any home owner would ever use in a lifetime. The only part I see being an issue after 5 or 10 years is the battery pack. I have had 2 die over the years and if you don't have a couple spares you're dead in the water until you can find a replacement. Hopefully echo keeps them available for years to come, otherwise I would suggest having at least 2 or 3 battery packs. I also suggest the 4ah packs. And never leave the batteries for an extended period with low charge or a full charge. I recommend at the end of the season using the batteries for only 10 minutes of trimming so they have at least 75% charge remaining before setting for the off season, also keep them in the house or where it doesn't freeze.

@@OneNationUnderGod. Very useful information. Thanks for taking the time. I have a small yard and I will only use it for home. The attention to the battery seems to be the key to having the trimmer for as long as possible. Thanks again

@@ianpollard4501 I think that may have been the mistake I made with a couple very costly Dewalt batteries. I’m down to two for a suite of tools, and I’ve started replacing hand tools with Milwaukee. Contemplating next move on lawn tools. I have click link attachments. I hope to find an electric brand that will support those.

While the dpas2600 I have is my main string trimmer, I’ve found I like the 2100 setup w the blade edger attachment; it’s got more than enough torque to cut through most of the ones I’ve used it on so far.

The main reason I bought the 2100 was to replace the 225. I mainly used the 225 with the hedge trimmer, the 2100 works great with the hedge trimmer, but it's too short for me for extended use with the other attachments.

Thank you I appreciate it, right now we're just starting to green up. I'm getting roughly 20 minutes out of the trimmer with the 2.5 ah battery. I typically run the 2620 for work and this does not compare to the professional model as far as performance, but very similar to the 225.

For residential would you get the 56v or the gas? I'm either going to get this 56v with the PAS or the gas PAS-225SB. The attachments I'll mainly use are the trimmer head, brush cutter, and the stick edger. Nice video btw!

If you're going to be using the battery power equipment to make money especially with the homeowner grade 2100 that I have in this video. I would recommend you go with gas because you can easily put gas to fill it back up you don't have to wait for the battery to charge I have three batteries two 2.5 and 5 I'm not comfortable going out in the field with just those three batteries and no way to charge them up. I bring the pas 225 with me along with the battery powered and use it if I need it.If you're just going to use it around your house the battery power is great no smoke never stalls always starts.

Im shopping for a battery trimmer, but this might not be it. 28 minutes batt life isn't long enough. Id have to buy 4 batteries to make it through the mowing day. What grade of string is that? Looks like .65

The trimmer line is .095 and here's the link to the commercial version of the trimmer kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnXOgZuXiNGkldk. you need four batteries to get through the mowing day You're going to need a lot of batteries no matter what trimmer you choose.

How does the new Echo 56 volt mower and ope line compare to the new Milwaukee lawnmower and their ope tools ?
@sololawnprofessional
@sololawnprofessional 2 жыл бұрын
I don't own any Milwaukee products but I would say this particular model of echo is your homeowner grade model and is probably extremely similar to the Milwaukee in performance. Echo is coming out with a more pro-oriented model later in the season. I don't own the lawn mower so I can't give you an opinion on it.

Have your tried the new Echo 56 volt mower ? If so any feedback or can you do a review ? I have two Makita 21 self propelled lawn mowers plus Makita and Milwaukee ope tools and I am wondering if this Echo 56 volt lime is any better ? Also would like to compare the new Milwaukee lawnmower to the new Echo lawnmower . Any word on a wider electric mower ?

I'm sorry I have not tried the 56 volt mower or any other battery powered lawn mower. Check out this video, I have not seen anyone else do a review of the mower except for this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIWxkHWnp9qrqLc As far as the attachments go for the echo there are the commercial attachments so you're getting a commercial product the power head is there a homeowner grade product and would be comparable to the Makita and Milwaukee power heads. I read some reviews of the Milwaukee powerhead and from those reviews the powerhead overheats when put through continuous work.

Sub to your channel. Good content. Been using the 58v for years. With the 58v straight shaft the motor is on the tap head like the DSRMM-2100 dedicated trimmer. It seemed to have good balance . I'm undecided between the 2100 and 2600 newer 56v. thought you have both. ECHO website shows the 2100 at 11.55 LB with 2.5 AH (not the splitboom DPAS-2100SB but dedicated trimmer) and theDSRM- 2600 with battery at 10 LB with battery with 5.0 AH battery. Does that seem accurate? I want the lightest one, I don't mind the 2100 being shorter shaft and less power as it would be used for weekly yards. I plan on getting the DPAS-2600SB splitboom later for more power . I have a stihl gas with a bigger engine and it's so unbalanced. The engine side is heavy while the tap head is so light making it very unbalanced. Wonder if that's what the DSRM-2600 feels like too, unbalanced since the motor is in the head and not the tap head, Thank you!

Hi, I'm just going to cover the balance of the trimmer. I'll have to get back to you later about actual weights. If you're going to use the trimmer to make money, I would go with the 2600 as it is just a more well-rounded trimmer with the extended battery life and more power. I like the trimmer to be as light as possible. So I run the 2.5 battery and only run the 5 battery if I have to. There is quite a difference in noticeable weight. The balance is excellent. Very similar to the 2620 trimmer. I ran the 2600 all of last season and used the 2100 occasionally. As far as comfort goes, the 2600 is better. It just gives you a more natural professional trimmer feel. But I do like the shape of the 2100 powerhead over the 2600

@sololawnprofessional
@sololawnprofessional Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't run it on the2100, the 2600 would be a better choice for the brush blade. The 2100 cuts out for about 30 seconds, if it hits something hard which is going to happen with the brush blade and in my opinion gets annoying pretty quick.

The standard 2600 string trimmer comes to a 5 amp hour battery and the dpas attachment model only comes with a 2.5 amp hour battery. To run this effectively, you really need multiple batteries no matter what size they are.
