Hello Kathy and welcome to the fun world of card making. For most of my matted layers, I add an additional 1/8". For example. If the pattern paper piece is 3" x 3 1/4", then the cardstock layer is cut to 3 1/8" x 3 3/8". If you prefer a wider layer, you can always add 1/4". 😊

Great cards as always!!! I love working assembly-line style, but I tend to go too overboard on embellishment which makes them take longer without making them any better. So it’s inspiring to see so many lovely cards done in a matter of hours while keeping the embellishment level tasteful. I’ve gathered that sketches and layering are key. QUESTION: How do you find local charities to donate cards to? I’d love to try making batches like yours to use up some of my stash (so I can buy more paper, haha!), but I don’t need this many cards -- even for Christmas.
@KristieMarcotte4 жыл бұрын
Vera Milo Thank you so much! Sketches are great for inspiration. And layers add lovely contrast and a finished look. 💖 I just started asking around to see if any organizations had a need for handmade cards. If you are comfortable writing an encouraging message inside the card, I think you will find more places happy to take your cards. Nursing homes, cancer centers, veteran homes, first responders, military and hospitals are a great place to start.
