Helpful video, thanks. I just got a 2520, did things as you'd demonstrated, and was up and running in minutes. Nice blower. Lighter than I expected and quieter than my Echo gas string trimmer. Feels balanced in either hand.

Looks like a decent machine, Echo is not a brand you find much of in the UK. After 30 years in the business, I have to say that my current handheld blower is the best I've ever used. I'm just a one man operation and not sponsored by anyone, but the Husqvarna 525BX is phenomenal!

525bx is a workhorse mate ditched my bg86 for 1, echo pb 2620 is also a topper, I've gota few echo units all solid, just easier for us in the UK to get stihl or husky. As a climber a can say echos top handle saws eat both stihl and husky units hands down

I bought mine today and it ran atleast an hour full power. I was moving wet leafs it did not act like they were wet it acted like it was instadrying them. Then floating them into the air. It also likes to quickly dig out old mulchy leaf matter your lawnmower leaves around tree root cavities above ground rotting grass. This lite weighted champ is worth its weight in rodium.

Hey Mark! Just got my Echo today after seeing this video. Thanks for being so thorough in your directions, it helps a lot for first time leaf blower owners. 😁 By chance, would you know from your experience about how many hours of use the VP 50-1 quart will give me? I can’t seem to find it anywhere on the web.
@abhishekmahendru1583
@abhishekmahendru1583 Жыл бұрын
Clarification: Are you talking about how long with fuel be left in the blower or overall how long with the 50 to 1 will last? Fuel in the blower should last you around a hour or so if you're strictly using the blower for a large job. However, if it's just blowing here and there, then of course longer. If you're talking about 50 to 1, then it also depends on how heavy you use the blower vs little things. For heavy use, it lasts me day or so. Little jobs, for couple of days.

Purchased this blower but.... if you look up parts ,well don't break up your gas tank or you will have to trash the blower. No parts available for it and the scary part is that the gas tank even new seams to be made of a brittle material. Might be returning mine,this looks to be a disposable tool.

Ok for people looking at this blower thought I’d share my experience with it. I purchased this blower two years ago for my lawn care business I do mostly residential work but have a few commercial contracts as well. Usually I don’t cheap out on work equipment it’s my experience that it only costs you more in the long run so just get the right tool to begin with. That being said I don’t use handheld blowers that much for work I’d say 80% of the time I use a backpack blower either my echo pb-9010 or pb-770 (both of which I would recommend 100% amazing blowers that will last a lifetime). Anyways the first season using this I was very happy with it had a lot of power and a low price point it was basically what I’ve come to expect from echo stuff but that didn’t really last. The second season I began to have issues with it keep in mind while I do use gas that contains ethanol I make sure to not only use premium but always run red armor oil since it has been great for all my tools from chainsaws to blowers and it stabilizes the gas so you don’t have to worry about it going bad although in my work generally a tank of gas won’t last much longer then a few jobs it is good to cover bases. Also when I store my tools for the season I switch the echo premix ethanol free and run it through everything for my last few jobs just to make sure all the ethanol gas is ran out of the carb. When I finally put into storage I run them dry using the premix. All that being said the second season running this blower the carb became very problematic it is not unusual with regular use that two strokes will need carb adjustment after breaking in as well as with significant changes in weather but this blower has the most finicky carb I’ve ever used on professional grade equipment. The second season it would constantly need adjustment especially if the weather bounced around a lot like one day 50 degrees and the next 80 degrees it wouldn’t even want to idle or it would choke itself out under full throttle. I can make adjustments to get it to be usable and even then it may decide to bog out randomly under throttle or have very high or very low idle after getting hot. I’ve gone through the carburetor completely to ensure all the gaskets are good I even replaced them all replaced the diaphragm I did it all complete Oem rebuild. After that it would run great for a bit but it would always be very finicky to the point I don’t even want to run it unless I absolutely have to. I’m sure it is a great option for some but I wouldn’t recommend this tool for anyone who uses a blower daily even if it is light use I really wish I had just spent a little bit more and gone with the professional model the 2620 it has a completely different carb and intake/filtration setup as well as other additions that make it much more ergonomic. For instance the handle on this blower is just a plastic mold and it isn’t done very well it has sharp edges that need to be sanded down, no secondary grip for when you are doing flower beds making it a little less effective. The 2620 has rubber over mold for the grip, double filtration like all the X series equipment as well as a secondary handle mounted to the bottom which not only makes it better for overhead use or any other awkward position it keeps the blower from falling over when you start it and set it down to warm up since the blower take forever to get to temp. Bottom line is this blower did not live up to my expectations for echo outdoor power equipment I’m heavily invested into echo love their tools even their lower end stuff will generally be built too high enough standard that it can be used for light to moderate commercial use. They missed the mark with this one maybe if you are a homeowner who uses it once a week and wouldn’t have an issue leaving it at a dealer for warranty repair or waiting for it to be replaced for a week but if I lose my blower for a week where I need it I could buy a brand new one with the money that costs me. My buddy who does lawn care as well has the 2620 and it is basically a better version of this without any of the issues if you want a reliable blower either spend the extra on that or go with stihl.

@zack6892
@zack6892 2 жыл бұрын
@@mightylaidlow1 I have it’s been adjusted the carb just sucks on this model I think. Anytime weather changes it acts up and takes forever to warm up. It’s actually the first echo equipment I wasn’t happy with. I’ve bought a few of the 2620 now and they don’t seem to have the same issues with the upgraded carb I leave this blower at home just cause I don’t really need it and it can have issues randomly.

@zack6892
@zack6892 2 жыл бұрын
@@mightylaidlow1 its worth it in my opinion. Besides the better carb you get better filtration, better ergonomics and a secondary handle for blowing out mulch beds when you got to hold it above you and aim down to keep chips from flying out. I had to sand the grip down on the 2520 cause the blisters it gave me from the sharp edges of the clam shell the 2620 had rubber over molds. The specs are the same but with the better carb you actually get full power out of the blower and I haven’t had to adjust the carb once. Also it’s nice that the 2620 will sit upright while you warm it up the 2520 falls over.
@zack6892
@zack6892 2 жыл бұрын
@@mightylaidlow1 also my 2620 came with nozzle attachments the 2520 didn’t. The tube on the 2520 is a different size too so echo attachments don’t usually work without an adapter. The 2620 shares the same size as my echo backpack blower it is nice in the fall I can interchange the echo gutter kit without swapping adapters.

Well did you get it to start yet? Just bought one today it seemed like alot of steps to do according to instructions tho. FYI: If you want it to last alot longer, deffinetly use the premixed fuel in a can. "Steve's Small Engine" explains why on his KZbin channel. Very informative stuff.

Buying premixed gas like you suggested wouldn't make sense for anyone who has a large property like mine. Non ethanol gas easily obtainable in my area at 90 octane and I have begun using it this year. I mix 50 to 1 using Wal Mart synthetic 2 stroke oil - I use in excess of 5 gallons per year. Best hint - make sure the carb is empty of gas when you put it up for the year. Follow the procedure that Echo recommends to make sure the blower is void of all gas. Otherwise, the gas will wreck the seals and diaphragm in the carb.

In the fine print in the manual on page 22 it suggest having the auto throttle position in the half way mark for cold startup, helps start a bit faster without tugging the cord 10-15 times for my second hand one.

Dump the premix can fuel out of the gas tank and hopefully it's not tru-fuel premix garbage. That crap eats up and hardens the carburetor diaphragm. Exclusively use echo red armor two stroke oil with 89 octane or higher fuel and use ethanol free if available. Also check spark plug, coil and fuel filter in gas tank. Thank me later dude.

Alright I did too. So the curved part is what I had trouble with, it shouldn’t curve up or down but curve to the right. It is possible to put the curved pipe in the wrong way. A good way of knowing which way is which is by looking for arrows and a sorta ring around it, that goes towards the blower. Once you get that it’s as simple as putting on the straight pipe and twisting clock wise. Hope this helped
