Brilliant! You can feel every drumbeat and every guitar chord, it is that amazing. Can’t believe i only found this is 2021. British bands from the 80’s are truly the best!

This is a perfect video for learning to cover this song. My band is doing it, and boy oh boy, the drumming technique here is gold! Wonderful song!

@@hockeyteeth "the drumming technique here is gold" Can you explain why?
@hockeyteeth5 жыл бұрын
@@gmansi Because it sounds exactly like the record version and the brushes make for the extra beats that flow perfectly. Just my opinion.

What a great recording. Saw them live several times but this perfomance is legendary. Great bands in the eighties (sisters, cure, siouxsie, joy division, bauhaus, cocteau twins and echo)

This is AMAZING. When bands actually knew how to play instruments and sounded the same on the stage as they did in the studio. Love the 80s!!! This is the best version of this song. ❤❤❤

Certainly one of the two or three greatest songs to come out of that golden age of British music and as far as I'm concerned, a track that is easily the equal of anything their crosstown rivals from another era, The Beatles, ever produced. Truly inspired piece of music!

One of the most underrated songs of all time, and it was still rated highly then and now!
@Shikta-poobah67Ай бұрын
Who was doing all that rating?
@truthnotopinion3659Ай бұрын
@@Shikta-poobah67 The Uk public with the charts, the bands gross take at their tours afterwards, and the cult following of this song through movie soundtrak such as Donnie Darko. The competition in that 80's era was fierce and the song was pushed down by herds of sheep following certain bands in that chart month such as Paul Mccartney, Frankie Goes to Hollywood etc, this song only got to number 9. Plus the group was seen then as having a hippy fan base. I lived through all of this. That is how rating is done.
@Shikta-poobah67Ай бұрын
@ I turned 18 about a month after the single was released, so yeah I ‘lived through all (that)’ myself. I’ve been a diehard Bunnymen fan since 1981, but A- for effort in your attempt to ‘put me in my place’ or whatever. And yes, I clearly remember all the dreck that was popular at the beginning of ‘84. It was a bit different where I lived, but no less dismal. Significantly more dismal, actually. Over here it was more like Lionel Richie’s multitude of hits, John Cougar Melon-head, Journey, the Footloose soundtrack, and “Jump”. Frankie Goes To Hollywood hit our shores a bit later on, and was actually a big improvement on the aforementioned hit makers. Anyway good for you that you can remember the times, and thanks for the music industry 101 tutorial. I’m sure you were just being helpful and insightful. We could have only been so lucky as to have The Killing Moon reach the top ten on the U.S. charts. Over here it charted no higher than 87 (I had to google that), but it really didn’t make much of a difference to me. By ‘84 I was pretty well used to the best new music being relegated to underground, or ‘cult’ status. That was nothing new in America by then. You Brits had it a _lot_ better than we did. The mainstream music industry (especially here in the states) didn’t have the slightest clue. Not then, not now, not ever. So, you’ll have to pardon me if I don’t pay much attention to ‘the ratings’. I’ve always just been in it for the music.
