I’m really glad that Gina’s husband Charlie mentioned the different scent between the two sisters. I was watching with a friend and mentioned wouldn’t their partners noticed that they smell different and sex isn’t the same? A small detail that makes a lot of difference. If you’re having trouble following just finish it through, then do a recap. At the beginning of the movie, we are following Leni, whom is at the time playing Gina. Gina is the writer, Leni is the mother and the one who saw the incident as a child the troubled one. Also she is the one who pushed Claudia and Gina took blame to protect her. So, the whole beginning we are following Leni, who is actually the mother of the daughter while the whole time i thought Gina (whom is running away) was leaving her daughter. We are following the bad sister, trying to prevent the good one from running away from her. When Leni made Gina start a book about her miscarriage i think this is when Gina began to want to get away, and when she found Dylan and got pregnant, that fueled it. I see a lot of negative reviews but i could not stop watching it, binge watched it and loved it. The ending was not great but I’ve seen worse for sure and it did not ruin the show for me
@leviAckerman-rn5gd2 жыл бұрын
I really liked the show, but Leni was so screwed up. Gina was constantly trying to make her own identity and personality outside of being a twin. But Leni constantly pulled her in and always had the blame thrown on Gina for the shit she did.

@sherryrose37772 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything you said!
@Whathappened8752 жыл бұрын
Gina is the redeeming character, if you’re compassionate enough, they both are. Gina dedicated her life to her sister, gave absolutely everything to her and lived a whole life around her. If you have any family members with a severe mental illness like Leni though, you might understand that one day it may just be too much to deal with for her. A person with a bad mental illness can eat you alive and she did it to Gina. Even though the life swapping is very immoral, she got caught up in it with good intentions for her sister. Leni on the other hand, had to witness something horrible as a kid. It broke her. So you saying she has no redeeming qualities might not be considered fair to many people, everyone will have differing views. I understand what the father was doing and that the mother wanted it and all, but knowing that one of your daughters witnessed what happened and he never discussed it with them, he destroyed his daughters world. It’s not easy being a parent they all make mistakes, this was a big fucked up one.

It’s about personalities disorder. What gives me away? I tried to think it was one person while watching it and suddenly it all makes sense. Other thing, Charlie (Gina’s husband) was holding a book named “Split”; and the scene at the Cherry Blossom, it was just one girl. At the end, one of them has to die. Leni’s childhood trauma when she was experiencing her father was killing her mother, it was too much for a mind to deal with so she allowed Gina to live her other personality who didn’t experience that trauma.
@rdm97542 жыл бұрын
It’s not abt personalities disorder. They were really twins that swapped lives every year around their birthdays. Gina was always painted out to be the evil twin but it was really Leni who is the evil twin. Leni was jealous of Gina’s and Dylan’s relationship. Hence why she started the fire in the barn to separate them. Anytime she did something wrong she wanted Gina to switch with her so that she wouldn’t get caught. Leni was always the controlling evil twin that Gina listened to.

I find shows about twins frustrating. I am a fraternal same sex twin and even was part of a social Twins Club organization as a child that contained over 250 sets of twins. I find it really inauthentic when they gloss over that a huge thing in psychological development is each twin developing their own sense of self identity. Yes, identical twins could stand in each other's place physically. So the visual and auditory could be identical. However, the way one individual structures sentences (both verbal and written), argues with others, processes information, and works through logic problems can be incredibly distinct. Twins in which each has no true sense of individual identity would probably not function normally during social interactions

We just got to watch this and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I'd probably give it 3 and half couches because I thought the Sheriff was really great. In the last scene it's was Gina with Charli, let me explain, remember the guard in the airport,told Leni that she saw someone who looks exactly like her in the airport before her , and I know someone would asked why line was in the airport, well Leni was there because she wanted to go back in Los Angeles because she was kicked out by her husband , I've just watched the show i did undestand something , when i was watching the series, i felt like my head wanted to explode, at first episode i knew how to make the difference between Leni and Gina but after watching a few episodes i was totally confused and I almost thought I had gone mad, but after thinking I understood how to distinguish the two twins, Leni it was she who had set the fire,in church and killed Dylan, and Gina, it was her who didn't had a chance to gave birth and lost his first love Dylan, and Gina also is the woman who had decided to flee and change her life with Dylan , and Leni was who wanted to kill Gina, 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I need to take rest, and I will try to figure out what happened in the movie, soon...if you want to be crazy , you have to see this series

Not being able to keep straight who was who is for a reason. If everyone is their life is fooled, do you as a viewer expect to just keep up with ease? Secondly it was sick that they were sleeping with each other's husbands and Charlie was aware of it and seemed to be enjoying and loving both the women. Is that crazy or what?. If Leni said she loved Gina so much then why did she try to kill her and drown her. ??? Why did they both go back to the same state just to see Charlie in the end? I tot Gina wanted to flee from everyone far away and start a new life. The series was tooooo long and dragging and frustrating and the ending was lame.

Personally I didnt find it confusing, just very frustrating. The premise was very promising but it dipped so far into melodramatic silly storytelling for me that it was hard to finsh. So many things were either implausible or just silly storytelling wise. I really liked the sheriff (Karen Robinson) who was very smart throughout but at the end they made her an incompetent idiot just so they could have that silly ending. Matt Booner and Jonathan Tucker were also as good as they could be in this. I also felt the real teenage twins were much more interesting, as M. Monaghan was too flat and melodramatic for something like this. Theres a sublety needed to be able to easily distinguish the sisters but it usually felt like the difference in characters was down to eyeliner and that awful side braid.

A review is meant to be their opinion. It's not a commercial and it's not a persuasive essay. You're meant to based your decision based on their opinion. The best way, in my opinion, is to find a few consistent people that you trust or tend to have the same tastes as rather than expecting someone to spoil the mystery for you (any more information on the plot would spoil the mystery, and the whole point of the show is discovering the mystery. All you need is the show synopsis otherwise go read a plot summary instead of watching reviews).
