ECHOES FROM THE METRO - A Metro: Redux Short

METRO is an amazing series and it was a real pleasure to fly around post-apocalyptic Moscow after all these years. No other game in this genre (for me at least) can capture the hostility of the environment itself as brilliantly as METRO does.
This presentation of the post-apocalypse had a great impact on me when I first played this game some 9 years ago. I remember being amazed and scared when I first emerged to the surface and feeling absolute dread when I encountered my first librarian.
Options with this CE table were fairly limited in contrast with Sekiro or Dark Souls but I tried to do the best I could and I’m quite satisfied with the end result.
As for the voices, I could not find the Russian voices uploaded anywhere and I’m too much of a noob to extract it for myself. Additionally… I don’t speak Russian, so I wouldn’t know where to begin even if I had them.

Reminds me of the time when I wanted to make something pretty much like this - intersplice footage and music, create a music video. Would have taken a track like "Alone", added distortion whenever the musical equivalent kicks in, etc.... Just a shame I had no idea how to do it, so I scrapped this idea. Anyway, this reminded me of that and I just wanted to say thanks for this beautiful trip down memory lane back to my own teenage years. :)

God Metro was flawed sure but it was so unique in its experience, to this day Game devs struggle to rival the atmosphere and world building this flawed dystopian masterpiece delivered. I remember the very first mission, hearing good things and being curious enough to try it. When you fell out of the mining cart and watched all those monsters race past you as you hid in some foliage of the now overgrown tunnels, only having taken this route in game Bcs the usual tunnel caved in. It really drove home how trapped humanity was in a nightmare of their own creation. 70 years after the bombs fell you truly played this game believing you were the last of humanity. Clinging to life in Metro tunnels and sewers, hunted by the monsters that now own this world. Thank you for making this I’ll have to re install and revisit this series yet again!

When people ask me for my favorite game, they always seem surprised that i answer with Metro's serie, this trilogy of game with Exodus is more than a game, it was a complet immersive, emotional and a matter of reflexion about the message. When i finished Exodus i wanted more, so much that i played the whole trigoly again, with paying even more attention to the World, i needed more, i was feeling part of this game, i was being so scared when i was alone in the dark or in the bright. Nothing was safe. To this day i never got this feeling during any others games, sadly, i love many game, really good post apo game too, but Metro is definitly something else, it's more than just a pew pew game with some monster or zombie, it's bring with it a reflexion, a story and relation to share with the people in this game, i never felt so connected, so amused or so passionated hearing NPC talking, i remember the wedding scene in Exodus, it's was so real, or just small talk with the crew and in contrast to that... They was those moment in the dark, surrounded by spider, alone with my shotgun and my only light source. I was scared, and fear make me died, a lot, A HELL LOT, jumpscare make me jump out of my keyboard, fear stopped me from continuing, this game was everything. And man, i'm so so SO hyped for the following to Exodus, if Exodus was what it was, the next one will be even better.

Dude, it helps that the story and setting are already somber, but I think you could make any game feel intense as this with your editting. Its really impressive. I bet you could make a short on mario games and turn it into a deep and dramatic spooky short. x3 Great stuff as usual!
