Fun fact: directdoggo, the creator of dsaf apparently loved the idea of people with phones for heads so much he made a game out of it. It’s called dialtown, and it’s pretty good! It has absurd and witty humor, amazing characters, a lovable protagonist, and Matt v2 (Randy). Roger from dsaf 3 is even getting an upcoming dlc. Also harry and Abel make a appearance. this isn't an ending, but theres also the tapes explaining Henry & Dave's backstory. it talks about how Henry was trying to find a way to cheat death (or something along those lines), and how he manipulated and experimented on Dave for that purpose, which turned Dave into what he is in dsaf. it's kinda fucked up.
@BIo0dpøP9 ай бұрын
you forgot to mention that henry treated dave terribly, theres these tapes that henry recorded talking about all his plans and the things he was doing. This is a great video ! The majority of it is correct and well explained , which is great because it's under an hour while my explanations of dsaf tend to be 3+ hours . So I can just link this instead X) However , there's a few things here and there that aren't true ; some of the things you " Have to " do aren't actually necessary , and some of the events are Possible but not Guaranteed ( An employee being springlocked is possible , but it's not a necessary / guaranteed story beat like Dave's offer . It happens more often if employee safety is low ) . So I thought I'd share ! - An Ending ( 21:18 ) : you don't actually have to pick all the purple dialogue options . DSAF2 asks you which DSAF1 ending you want to start from . Choosing Gnarly and then doing the radical route as normal is what gives you An Ending . The purple dialogue is just neat new dialogue . - Perfect Ending ( 22:25 ) : Iirc , you don't have to name yourself Jack for the perfect ending either . This ending is obtained by helping phone guy , helping the Marionette , then coming back for the party ( And also asking Peter if He experienced a springlocking for a bit more lore ) . No name prerequisite . Your name tends to just give extra dialogue or easter eggs , like Dave's theme playing if you name yourself Old Sport , getting fired instantly for naming yourself Candy or Emilmacko , Peter comparing you to a Jack-o-Lantern / saying you Look like a Jack , Peter adding a line in his evil route rant if your name is the same as a dsaf2 victim , et cetera . - DSAF2 True Ending ( 27:45 ) : This one is more of a fun fact -- The game Does say that , and the game is also wrong . Not only did it come back with dsaf3 , but that ending isn't even the canonical ending . There is no canon ending . In DSAF3 , while Dave talks about TRFredbear going awol , the image of ' Legacy Jack ' pops up , implying that he's gone because Jack killed him . However , while talking to Dee and Dave about Steven , you have the option to say you Did or Didn't kill children in the previous games , and neither are a lie . You can also tell Roger who caused the bite of '87 , which is something that changes based on your route ( It's like a pick your own dsaf 2 ending ) . - DSAF3 Good Ending ( 33:49 ) : You don't Have to abandon Dave . Salvaging him doesn't matter so long as you refuse his murder plan . - Dee's Fight ( 34:45 ) : You also don't Have to run away from Dee ; she can just kill you . - Dee ( 34:32 ) : She was actually murdered in the 70s . June 23rd of 1973 to be exact . - Birthday Cutscene ( 36:23 ) : The child's caretaker leaves to bury his dead dog then gets drunk at his own house . - DSAF Evil ( 38:07 ) : You're already at the end of the evil route ( with only Vegas and the Fazbunker left ) . Answering that it wasn't your intension makes no difference . - Layer 4 Trap ( 44:13 ) : It's not Henry's trap . When it says that this is what " He " wanted , " He " is in purple , and it refers to the Shadow Doggo , aka Blackjack . Had it been referring to Henry , it would've been pink . But like I said , this video was awesome ! Thanks for making it !!

The thing I love about this series is how it's one of the best stories every told in a FNAV project (possibly even better than the source material), but it never stops being a shitpost. In fact, i'd say it's to it's benefit is as the tonal whiplash makes it hit that much harder. Everyone forgets that a story doesn't have to be just ONE tone. You can do both.

I think one thing that was understated from the 3rd game in this video was Henry as a whole. His presence. If you look through Henry's old tapes, you can find that Henry became obsessed with the idea of returning from death, and begins experimentation. On William. He actually kills him in a springlock suit at one point, only to find that he came back, ok. I believe that's where Dave's soul 'split'. In his own words: "I couldn't even let go of my own dead body", because he was so desperate for the partnership and friendship Henry was supposedly giving him. Henry masterfully manipulated Dave. And him being kept alive in the void was exactly what he wanted. He was afraid of death more than anything, and this existance, no matter how menial and little it may be, wasnt that. He had time to seep his influence back into the world, which he actually suceeds at in the Evil ending. In it, Jack becomes his vassel of sorts, with Henry even praising him for the work he did. He calls Dave weak, and easily manipulated, wheras he tossed you out, but you crawled your way back to life each time. You kept coming back. In Henry's own words, "I never had to mollycoddle you". Like 80% of people watching this already probably know it, but I will be damned if I dont loredump on my favorite fnaf fangames. Also one more sidenote, but fuckin props to DirectDoggo for writing Dave into one of the most simultaneously irredemable, sympathetic, pathetic, competent, hilarious, and most heartbreaking charecters in the whole series

i'm currently hyperfixated on this series so what i'm about to say is gonna be super fuckin biased,, I LOVE IT . i love it a LOT. i love the writing and the characters and the plot and the.... everything. ((..maybe not the humor of the first game though, hehe,,h)) i love the entire henry and dave backstory, how it takes them being business associates in the canon lore into an entirely different situation; a father figure and his ""SON"" that he manipulates into doing horrible things. william was just a normal (well, as normal as a purple fuck gets) dude until henry fucked up his brain so he couldn't *feel* empathy or regret anymore. i love how the ending ties EVERYTHING together. how we get to see everybody get their happy ending, even DAVE, one of the major reasons the souls here are lost in the first place. don't even get me started on henry, he is a GREAT villain. i love his research and his tapes, and how he.. technically isn't incorrect, lol. his tapes are pretty chilling to listen to, especially the one where you can hear him talking to dave, and where we learn more about their relationship. henry obviously never loved or cared for dave, (he straight up says it of course,,,) but dave was always obsessed with him, just as he is obsessed with jack throughout the series (man clearly has some abandonment issues..!) i freaking LOVE the evil ending in game 3 as well. how dave practically confesses to you as you're MURDERING HIM. straight up cried cause dave/davetrap is my favorite character from the entire series 👍 anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk

The reason why we get the flashbacks of the day Dee died and Jack’s meeting with Peter in the evil ending of DSAF 3 is because Dave (the good Dave in the Flipside) was spying on Jack through Davetrap’s eyes and he and Dee saw everything Jack and Davetrap did so Dave decided to haunt Jack by making him have flashbacks of the day Dave and Henry murdered Dee and when Jack visited Peter to tourment Jack for lying to him and Dee and leaving them in The Flipside to continue murdering with Davetrap

Honestly, I enjoyed all dayshift trilogy. I played vs ourple guy in 2022(FNF mod) and i wonder who were the characters from last song. At may of 2023 I started playing dayshift 1 and it was good. But i make a mistake. I want to get almost every ending from dsaf trilogy. When i discovered that second part have more endings when 1st, I was little bit in shock (also game mechanic with choosing endings from 1st part is almost useless). I liked Peter more then Steven in 2nd part. I ended games on happy endings (instead of dsaf 1). I just want them to get their "good ending". But completing 3rd game takes me a lot of time cuz I was a bit bored on dsaf 3 (game is good, hear me out). I finish all dsaf 3 endings and I was like: "I cant leave them without good ending". I fought henry boss for final time and it was touching or smth. I probably replay trilogy in future but not now (sorry for bad english, just learning it cuz im russian lol).

I FUCKING *LOVE* DIRECTDOGGO, ESPECIALLY THEIR GAME DIALTOWN. I never expected to get as attached to silly phone-headed characters in a game as I did, but... here I am.
@RSDZSTURMLEITER2 ай бұрын
In Dsaf 2 when you enter "Germansnake" as your name, when phone guy asks you about it, you get a secret line. For context Germansnake is a german KZbinr which got a easteregg in that game for some reason. Its a cool little funny easteregg.
