Thanks, first time seeing your videos and thought it was really well done, the music selection and birds fitted in perfectly.

Gee I wonder why those old timers built the wharf so high at Euchca, must have known something!!
@jeffreynichols8032 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and the wharf was built about 6 years before the 1870 flood, which was another metre higher than the current one. Looks like they had some good insight as to floods potential.

Have been watching your videos this week of the floods in Echuca. Thankyou so much for putting up a drone footage giving a greater perspective in the flooding. To think we were up there 4 weeks ago on a houseboat. Keep up the great footage.

Just think, in the 1800's, this happened so much, that the infrastructure was built to accommodate it, both flood and drought...

But, it's climate change, isn't it!
@purplerain23142 жыл бұрын
Yep, even Dorothea Mackellar who penned My Country in 1908 at age 19 was aware of this country's extreme weather events.

Thanks for the videos. I have watched several of your flood videos so I just subbed.. I am wondering if all those paddle boats tied to the old port, might be too much strain on the old warf posts. Especially during floods when they are tied up higher..? Anyway time will tell.

My thoughts exactly

The Wharf is being checked regularly by engineers, at this stage no issue at all as far as I'm aware

@@7six3 that’s good. I understand that this isn’t the first flood and they do know what they are doing. But to my untrained eye 👁️ who doesn’t live there but to me just seems like a silly idea putting extra strain on the old structure. And yes I know it’s had lots of maintenance and replacement Parts over the years. It’s still wood and this is a huge flood.

what impact has the new bridge had to the area,please some photos/video would be great, I love your work/efforts
@7six32 жыл бұрын
The new bridge is open Echuca to Moama, but not Moama to Echuca. It's not affected, it's more the low lying points of Warren St in Echuca and not wanting excess traffic in the area. As you can see in some of our other videos, the new walking bridge at Croften St across the Campaspe has turned into a beaver dam, holding logs/rubbish etc in place

Great video, unfortunately peoples homes are flooded, but something tells me this is where the water should be, pre locks etc. Droughts and flooding rains.

any chance you can get some footage of Torrumbarry Headworks and Weir please
@7six32 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately we're currently unable to access the Weir, the areas closed off and remains under an Evacuation Warning. Once the river is opened for boats we'll get something up.
