@sarahjmount92215 ай бұрын
That’s beautiful. She did know instinctively. You must have inherited her gift for seeking presence. I do look at it as a gift since not everyone is as lucky as us to have found Eckhart then to follow his teachings;or to always have innately known there was something deeper to life than what we were experiencing and a way to connect with God, or the Source….I do not mean that in an egoic sense whatsoever. God bless you and your mother. I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds as though she was awakened enough not to have to be reincarnated but to have chosen the portal to be at “one” with the universe and God (if that’s what she believed in.) Like “The Power of Now” discusses. So, now you may already be enlightened or are practicing to be (I know it’s the wrong way of wording things but it’s the only way I know how to say it) so you’ll be at one with her and everything else and feel pure love from it all like we feel from Eckhart, instead of continuing to have a heavy pain body of grief if you do. Sounds like your mother was a truly spiritual being and I’m sure you are , and that makes all the difference in the world. ❤🙏 Best wishes on your journey.

Realizing that I am not my thoughts - that I don't need to listen to them, that I can simply observe them - is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. My mind used to keep me miserable, worried, angry - every single day. After practicing Eckhart's teachings I now only feel that way sometimes, and even then I have a way out. I now realize that I create my own suffering, and that I can stop doing this any time I choose. I can accept this very moment as it is and stop producing needless suffering. The past has loads of regret, resentment. The future holds so much fear, worry. But Now everything is OK. And Now IS everything.

its funny that an easy shift into not thinking eliminates most of the problems. We just don't have to think about anything that pops into our heads. Who knew?!
@stephenflood346310 ай бұрын
@@ianIccyStewart Exactly. We don't have to get carried away all the time with the stream of thoughts passing through our human mind because the omnipresent flow of consciousness is constantly permeating throughout the entire universe regardless of what we think. So we ought to be able to have control over our mind rather than our mind have control over us. Awakened people are highly aware of this and they are able to harness the constant flow of consciousness to bring forth more light unto themselves and in to the world.✨

My brother lives near a beautiful beach in Scotland. He was there with his dog, who was playing in the sea, barking with joy, chasing Peebles on the surf. A woman sat nearby, a member of a local spiritual community. She had come to meditate, and for a moment she was lost in the joy of my brother's dog playing, then she remembered that she had come to sit in silence and commune with nature. She got very annoyed with my brother, and the dog, for being a dog. Had l been there l would have pointed out, that watching Angus play was the purest meditation she could have had, but her idea of some ideal got in way of it.

Yep, and the her mind barged its way back in. Proponents of meditation often miss the point and spend endless hours in turmoil being beaten up by their noisy mind. When in reality, no amount of time or special training is needed to become 'properly' silent. It might be hard to get underneath the clutter, but it is always there.

This is so true. One doesn't necessarily need to subscribe to spiritual beliefs to appreciate the power of presence, , test the practice and find for yourself.... Since my awakening, I've come to realize that moments of true happiness weren't solely about external factors like relationships or activities; they were about tapping into the spaciousness of presence within. Now, I can still cherish those experiences, but I no longer depend on them for my inner peace. It's a liberating realization, and I hope more people discover this innate source of contentment within themselves.

" Learn silence. And at least with your friends, with your lovers, with your family, with your fellow travellors here, sit in silence sometimes. Don´t go on gossiping, don´t go on talking. Stop talking, and not only on the outside - stop the inner talk. Be in an interval. Just sit, doing nothing, just being presences to each other. And soon you will start finding a new way to communicate. And that is the right way. Start communicating through silence sometimes. Holding the hand of your friend, sit silently. Just looking at the moon, feel the moon, and both feel it silently. And see, a communion happens - not only communication, but a communion. Your hearts start beating in the same rhythm. You start feeling the same space. You start feeling the same joy. You start overlapping each other´s being. That is communion. You have said without saying anything, and there will be no misunderstanding."
