@@sammarso8178 I grew up here during the 90s/00s, my dad is a huge Lightning fan (I'm primarily a Devils fan because of Brodeur, little brother 1 is an Avs fan because of Roy, but both of us will pull for Tampa if they're not playing our teams). My family always loved Marty and Vinny. We were pissed with how Yzerman treated them both, because we wanted them to retire in Lightning jerseys. When Marty went to the Canadiens, we started passively following to see what he'd do with them. Figured it'd take a couple years for him to make changes, and it looks like they're starting to yield results. The team has some nice pieces.

Oh it can be so hard to be a Habs fan - constantly love hate up down. My hopes were raised after watching the season opener - it seemed like a totally different team to one from last season. Then we fell back into the bad habits i.e. not defending (and capitalising on) the rebounds, giving away dumb penalties, not playing to the ref's whistle. And then all of a sudden we are holding our own against and even beating some of the toughest teams in the league. I too hope for a Canadian heavy finals series - Canadian home crowds are insanely loud and rowdy (doubly so if it's Canada v Canada or even better east v west)

Also consider that Celebrini missed the first 12 games of the season so 2 points less in 10 fewer games. But also consider Hutson plays top pairing minutes and on the top powerplay. He contributes massively so I'm sure a players overall value to the team should count for something.
@JoeyVilleneuve20 сағат бұрын
@@stevestreet4402 Those are good points, but Celebrini plays on the first line and is also getting top PP minutes. Overall, Hutson plays about 2 minutes more per game comparing average TOI. Given that minor difference, I think it still stands that it's harder for D-men to put up numbers and it should be leaning in that direction for that reason.

I am a Habs fan and I'll tell u my perspective. This team was in the gutter earlier. There was a legit threat of regression in the rebuild. Ever since Laine came back, Dobes came up for Primeau, and we robbed Nashville for Carrier, this team has completely changed entirely. It's unlike anything I've really seen from this franchise. Now will this last? I doubt it still. We are historically way too prone to injuries, other teams will be hungry (Rangers) and Dobes/Evans line can't be perfect every game. Plus if we do make the playoffs, we are for sure getting bounced quickly enough to not gain much experience
