With more scoring depth coming up from Demidov, Hage, Beck, Reinbacher and Mailloux, Florian and Tuch. Montreal is gonna be such a scary team to face in a couple years and that behemoth is just now starting to grow. It’s gonna be a whole wild generation of Habs that are gonna be very entertaining

@ yes. We are in a fantastic position. We are slotted to pick 7 times in the first 3 rounds this year. We have major draft capital and some UFAs that could fetch a few more pieces for the rebuild.

Don't count your chickens yet. I've been around long enough to see dozens of highly touted, guaranteed future star prospects not even play a single NHL game for us in the NHL. Right now the only name from that list that's a guaranteed NHLer is Demidov, and the NHL is still a huge step up in skill from the KHL, so his superstardom isn't even guaranteed.

Hutson just took over the end of that game lol. First time in 30 years I can say we are building a Cup contending team. I wish it was Koivu or Price and always will be my fav players but this team when Demidov and Reinbacher come are going to be disgustttting.

I don't think we should be getting too hyped on Reinbacher. I haven't seen a single highlight of his to classify him as disgusting. He's not physical or offensive, just kinda solid defensively. Which is the role he's gonna have to play so it works but yeah I'm not sure he's gonna be the insane standout player we're all hoping he will.

I thought that with how well michkov started and with celebrini probably going on to have a great year, the chances of a defenseman winning it this year would be pretty slim. i of course believed that hutson would have a good year in the league, but i wasn't expecting him to just blow up like and play like he has. he really is making a case for himself in the calder race

@@Effigyy In my (biased) opinion, I'd say he's the favourite at the moment. He leads rookies in points as a defenseman. I know Celibrini missed some games but still... This type of production along with his contributions to a team that has (at the moment) made a complete 180, are worth noting. Whereas Sharks and Philly are both still in the gutter

When Cale Makar won the Calder Memorial Trophy, the top 6 in votes for the trophy had 3 Defenseman, 2 Goalies and one forward named Kubalic. The only other forwards with votes were Olofsson and Suzuki in position #7 & #9 respectively. Sadly with Michkov and Celebrini, I don't think a Defenseman has a chance, but if one does, it's Lane Hutson.

Solid game from the boys, good to see them battle through the whole game. One things I saw. Despite the goal, Dach was pretty bad last night. Giveaways, misplays and mispositions galore through the first 40. One thing I want. Please Slafkovsky, start playing like you're 6'4. Use your body more, and get a little angry. Take shots, make plays, fight for loose pucks. The potential is there, but looks like he's holding back for some reason.

Okay so just one quick thing I want to point out. The last penalty sending Hoglander to the box - it was not Hutson he interfered with. It was Anderson a couple seconds later in the circle that drew that penalty. Lane is so much fun to watch play you almost forget there are other players on the ice. Even the commentators got it wrong until the replay.

Slaf will be great when he mature physically and mentally 100%. Powerforward who will play the puck well on the boards, look how he set up Caufield's goal last night against the Canucks. It's those type of plays he can bring, he can also score and create some plays.

Loving this dominant run. The boys are beautiful to watch. I'm still dissapointed in what I see from Slaf this season, despite a few nice passes here and there. He's taken a big step back from last year and that 8 year x 7.6 mil contract scares the crap out of me. Without Suzuki and Caufield, Slaf would be just as effective as Michael Pezzetta out there.

I agree Slag has been disappointing in production, but not in the body of work. He's not playing to his contract, but every rookie can have slumps. And I don't think pezetta will get those assists playing with Nick and Cole. In any case, cap is going up and we can trade Slaf in a few years if he becomes a Kaako situation. The main window of contention is starting with the 26-27 season when a bunch of anchor contracts are done

I think the rest of the games we have against the Senators, Detroit, Toronto, Boston and Florida will tell use if this team is making the playoffs or not ESPECIALLY Ottawa… We got swept in the season series by Pittsburgh, That’s rough, We won the season series 2-1 against Columbus, So the Ottawa games are MASSIVE! Very big if this team is gonna make it or not.

The scary thing is we arent clicking on all area of the ice. We are going to be a trye franchise for many years if slaf picku it back up and demidov comes over. That was a good game and 62nd pick?! Wild. This was the Canucks at their classic best - world beaters one minute and asleep at the wheel the next. I feel bad for all the Canucks goalies ever. Canadiens just kept it coming the whole way, and the Canucks were lucky to come away with a point. Loved to see Lekkeramackerel get up from that hit and get a goal, but he better not take too many like that.

I don't know which game Dobes is starting next weekend, but if he puts up another big win and lets in only a goal or two, I want to see him playing AT LEAST half of our games going forward. The only reason we're in a playoff spot right now is because our scoring has gone way up in the past month and because he got us two huge wins against difficult opponents. Monty is doing nothing to help our chances, and if Dobes is the real deal and has another few solid starts in a row, he needs to be promoted to number one until he proves he's not good enough to be there or until Monty proves he is.

When it was 3-1 I thought pull the goalie. Wow am I glad I'm not the coach. Good on MSL. Our little bundle of joy will remember this his whole career. It reminds of Josh Georges years ago when he made a pass in front of his goalie and the other team scored. He looked ready to cry, but it made him a truly great defenceman. Great content.

The penalty at the end was actually drawn by Anderson and not Hutson fyi. Although it prob should have been Hutson. After the stickless guy grabs Hutson with no call, he obstructs Anderson and that’s what they nailed him for.
