+shelly cai Because in reality they still look the same all the way through the ad but are depicted to us, the audience, how they think they look after eating the mints, so when he says ''I'm an iceman!'' she tells him he's ridiculous cause she still sees him the same way as at the start of the ad.

I just revisited this to see the full ad again as it had been far too long. A lady I used to work with said it was her favourite ad, but she had never even seen the full one. The full one is one of my favourites, the short one not so much. Why can’t they cut the ads I hate, and lay off the good ones? There’s a shortage of perfect ads in this world.
