So the line doesn’t sag and have more direct contact to your flies

I always like to manage my line with my left hand. Wrapping it over my rod helps place it closer to my hand incase I drop it on accident. Also prevents sag between my index and first guide

Do you find any merit in fishing your top fly higher up when bugs are coming off? Or just focus more on fishing the swing?

I don’t really change my rig at all year round. Definitely focus more on the lift/ swing at the end of my drift this time of year

Cleaned em up again Dan you’re insane!!!! Yeah you were a little too far west for the lights to go out you had to be in Ohio or Erie for the black.. The birds kept chirping except when it got dark, really spooky bizarre feeling!!! I got great pictures and that was my mission for the day.. Then the neighbors horse ran away so who knows??
