Reel mower cutting grass. Not too bad for a 70+ year-old mower.

this brings back such memories. Back in the 1960's my grandparents had a very old and beautiful Hahn Eclipse Rocket! We were young boys but we'd cut the grass using this fine machine. How I'd love to have one today. Great sentimental value. I really loved that machine.

This is the type of mower used to cut the greens at the Augusta National golf course when I was a kid, I’m 70 years old now so it’s been a while . Not sure what they use today, but I remember seeing this type of mower used to cut very precise and clean greens for the Masters Tournament, there wasn’t a need for making large height adjustments for the work that they were designed to do.

Grass wasn't as thick in the 50's!! What size tire is that in case we come across some!! I came across some NOS tires once for $3 ea but didn't need them at the time!!☺

10.50 X 2.00 is marked on the tire. Of course you wouldn't need them! HA! Thanks Buddy.

That is so cool! I haven't seen a starting system like that before. Is it some kind of spring loaded ratchet? I have a Exeter Pa with a recoil starter and 5S Briggs & Stratton. Possibly early to mid 1940's according to a original manual I bought from ebay last year. The magneto doesn't spark and I haven't located another. Thinking about trying one from a early 80's B&S. Been too busy to really tinker with it while trying to get my haying equipment ready for this season. Glad to see one up and running!

Thanks for watching. Another YT channel 805Roadking has a series on the rebuild of a similar engine, probably a similar mower. Yes, it is a spring-loaded ratchet with an over-riding assembly once the engine starts. I had ignition issues at first and it was just dirty points. Hope that helps.

@@rdg2124 Thanks for the reply and the rebuild video tip. I'll definitely look for it. I wish I had the same interest I have now, in all of these neat things my dad brought home from somebody else's back yard years ago. Better late than never I guess.
