Sounds awesome . Looks great . Landing is a big challenge for this type of plane .

Something about a flying wing. A thing of beauty

I agree. Wings make up the largest percentage of my fleet by a wide margin!

@@brubakerjm that’s awesome bro! The only wing I have is that xfly twin eagle 😅

Hello, nice model. Question: you used differentiated movement for the ailerons?

I am almost done with my build. Just finished painting and gluing it together.

I wish I was better at painting. This model looks great when appropriately finished with paint. Good luck!

Hola, usando dos edf el consumo es bestial, nunca debes volar mas de 4 minutos con turbinas, felicitaciones por tu video.

It's good to have a wing that doesn't have to fly at full throttle all the time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJnLaYmlp8ise5o

Kinda wish people would do a maiden without cams mounted on the aircraft. Really want to see how it flies without such encumbrances.
@brubakerjm4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I certainly understand that in general. One of the things we were testing with this prototype specifically was the strength of the wing since it doesn't use any carbon spars. So in-flight video was critical in detecting any wing flex under harder maneuvers (we didn't observe any) and summarily sharing that info/video with the other testers. That sort of thing is somewhat difficult to see from the ground. It has also been my experience that cameras mounted on the canopy often have a negligible effect on flight characteristics. I have flown probably twenty different models with canopy cameras and very rarely can "feel" a difference. That said, I have put cameras *other* places on a model and the detrimental effect is immediately obvious. But I agree with you, aerodynamics and flighty performance are definitely going to be better without a camera!

Was the main landing gear also so floppy for you? Mine is really wobbly since its only being held in place by one single pla wall lol
@brubakerjm2 ай бұрын
Mine felt pretty solid actually, even after I had to bend it back into shape. Is it the linkages that are loose or just the hole where it passes through the cover?

Which PLA did you use ?
@brubakerjm3 ай бұрын
Most of the airframe is white Overture Air PLA, which is "pre-foamed" (not an active foaming filament). The forward center fuselage piece and EDF covers are Voxel PLA Pro and the elevons are Voxel PLA Pro black. If I reprinted this, I would seriously consider using an active-foaming PLA for the main airframe like Colorfabb or Esun or 3DLabPrint (which is what I've been using on some recent projects).

Nice- Did you have to add any noise weight. thinking about hand launch mind?
@brubakerjm5 ай бұрын
I think I had a 1oz fishing weight in the nose. Plus the weight of the camera on the canopy as well. My build was fairly heavy though. If you printed with active foaming LW-PLA, you won’t need as much. I don’t think mine would have had a chance at hand launch. Perhaps with a large-ish helper that could really chuck it? When I print the next one, I plan to print the bungee hook and make it a belly lander.
@jyrrys3 күн бұрын
@@brubakerjm Hello. I highly recommend bungee launch. This wing of mine also has 2 EDF 50mm, it has no vertical surfaces. It was a challenge. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6XJaYWgnLmkjNU
