How can I buy you a beer? My AC went out on Sunday and I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to keep our house cool in 95 degree weather. In didn’t know ANYTHING about HVAC before this adventure. Pulled the unit apart, tore down the motor, and sure enough the thermistor was fried. Ordered one for next day delivery on Amazon. Ordered a soldering iron this morning (I have never soldered before), and I’m about to go to bed in a cold house! I owe you big time, thank you so much for making this video.

Great video! Instead of curling the wire around, I would get a couple of very small, uninsulated, crimp connectors, cut the new leads to length, crimp them with a pair of pliers, and put a little solder on the crimp connector. That would be a whole lot less work and a very secure connection

It's actually called an 'Inrush Limiter' which a specialized type of thermistor for this application.

How did you know it was an SL22 and not an SL32? 20amp versus 30 amp.

This is not the first video I've seen where the thermistor is bad on an ecm. This is a bad design and they should be built where the thermistor doesn't have to be replaced because it's way too much of a pain in the ass to pull the blower motor.

It’s a two dollar part being sold for seven dollars.

That’s great but beats the 6-800 my company would charge you for a new motor.
