sir why does in VA ECMO blood is pushed in artery why not vein ?
@cormchm2853 Жыл бұрын
@@sumanshori1791 As per information in the actual video, oxygenated blood pushed to Artery under pressure, which provides some hemodynamic support.

My boyfriend was on ECMO in England. He had pneumonia & had a lobectomy on his right lung as it was full of puss he was the 1st person in the UK to survive such surgery at the time at his age. He was 42. He died 3 times like 7 mins, 11mins & 22mins. He got a hypoxic brain injury & suffers extreme anxiety & he gets chest pains & he has lots of problems but youd not nice unless you lived with him or were family. We've known eachother since I was 15 & I'm 43 now & we've been together 5 years this year! I thank God for ECMO & the Doctor who searched the country on Xmas eve for the ECMO machine & team!! The love of my life & my kids new Dad is with us & I can't be more happy!!!! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

My mom was on this. She didn't survive, but it gave her a chance to see her sisters before she died. Pretty good in my opinion. Thanks to the CCU nurses I learned a lot before becoming a nurse myself(in the ER.)

My 65 year old brother who has COPD, was placed on this machine this evening. He is in ICU. I hope this experience he's going through now will scare him into stop smoking. He would be so much better with his COPD if he would. This morning he gave us a huge scare when he came out of his bedroom and collapsed on the kitchen floor unable to talk and gasping for air. Ambulance came quick and they put him on oxygen after giving him a breathing treatment. His O2 was 96% but he still had a very hard time breathing. I am praying to God that this will be the straw that makes him quit smoking. COPD is fatal, there is no cure for it. But a person can pass away from it without suffering providing they stop smoking.

VA ecmo is something you don't want to see. There are two types- the native Bypass type (where we are taking a central line and continuing cardiac bypass post-surgery) and also the emergent type placed during a code blue or a shitshow at the bedisd.

Thanks for this. In my EMT class learning CPR, I blurted out “we don’t even need the heart and lungs. These are just damaged middle men who are keeping me from doing what I need to do. Which is oxygenate the blood.” The class laughed said ok make a machine that does that then. Thanks ECMO type VA. :-) one day (maybe 100 years from now) I’m betting CPR will be replaced with ECMO.

My husband is on ecmo and I am just amazed at the level of care he is getting! They find complications so quickly and they have been able to correct them! I’m a firm believer in miracles because I am one myself, so I pray not only for my husband but for everyone who is taking care of him. I trust that God is working on my husband through the doctors and nurses and I know He works on His own. I’m seeing small improvements in my husband’s numbers and it gives me confirmation of healing is going on.
