About the dual solar inputs that you can't understand, consider that not everybody has the space or means or desire to combine all their solar panels into one mega array. Some people have panels that can't combine without risking damage to them. Some people might have one array on one side and another one with different voltages on another side to catch sun at different angles. Maybe somebody is using one port for solar, and the other port for a 12v car power to xt60 to charge their battery. Maybe one port they're using for solar, and the other port their have connected to a micro hydro generator. Maybe they've connected a small generator to a stationary bike or treadmill and they're using that to exercise while filling their battery with one port, and the other for some other source. There are so many reasons somebody may want dual solar inputs. The X-Boost "fake news" stuff is really just you not understanding that other people do different things than you do. Not everybody needs to use their battery to charge laptops and phones and stuff. Some people use this to run well and sump pumps during emergencies, or run power tools out on a job site or when they just don't want to run cables across their yard while building a shed or whatever. Some people might want to power an hot plate while simultaneously making coffee while camping. If you don't want to use the features, then don't use them. But that doesn't mean other people won't find those features incredibly useful. Don't be so simple minded.

Yup. Dual input suits my needs more than a single input of identical wattage would. I live near many exceptionally large pine trees and sun is spotty in the mornings/evenings/winter. A single large array would produce less for me than multiple smaller arrays due to shading. If I lived somewhere else with the space and sunlight to set up a 1000-1200 watt array, the single port would be more convenient. The dual inputs is part of what sold me on Ecoflow compared to the other competing brands.

The main thing I don't like about this unit is the 40w parasitic draw on the inverter. Several reviewers have tried to dismiss this as standard for that size inverter, but it's not! The Bluetti AC200L 2400w inverter uses 13.5w and the Pecron E3600 3,600w inverter only uses 30w. 40 watts is very high for an 1,800 watt inverter. And paired with the smallish 1kwh battery, it's gonna use up a lot of power on nothing. If you turn on the AC inverter (with nothing plugged in) and leave it 24 hours, it will drain nearly the entire battery.

I've noticed overheating issues on several of my power stations and inverters, all different brands... but it seems that vendors prioritize making units quieter rather than making units robust. Heat isn't good for power electronics, even when in-spec. I far prefer that the fans be running all the time at low levels and ramp up and down slowly as needed. Cycling of fans is far more annoying than having a continuous fan. I see this issue on little car inverters, more serious inverters, and several power stations. I have an Oukitel (same OEM as FFPower) P2001 whos fan is very quiet, but doesn't run fast enough at medium loads and the unit overheats and shutsdown (doesn't happen at high loads, the fan is going full blast, but medium loads... it overheats). I have a little "300W" pure sine wave car inverter that lets its internal FETs exceed 100C (212F) before it turns on its fan, which is just plain stupid. And I have a number of WZRELB inverters whos fans aren't variable speed and cycle off and on all the time which is really annoying. I've wound up opening up all of these units and hacking the fans. Either soldering a resistor in parallel with the temperature sensor contacts (3K to 10K depending, which makes the unit think it is hotter than it is and forces it to turn its fan on sooner), or literally locating 12VDC on their circuit boards and adding a super-quiet always-on fan in addition to the existing fans... which does a good job preventing the official fans from cycling on and off. -Matt

Question! You mentioned that you can duel charge this unit with both ac power and solar at the same time which does surprise me. What I want to know is can you program the unit to use ac only under certian conditions. For example if the battery reaches 20% charge, turn on the ac to charge it back up. If over 75%, turn off ac and rely on solar only. Or after sunset, turn on ac to charge the unit or a certian time when power is cheaper?

I like the two separate solar inputs. If you install it in a truck then you can have 500 watts of solar and the alternator hooked up for an additional 200 Watts without having to mess around with it. Having two allows it to have two separate voltages coming in.

thanks for the review and thanks especially for pointing out such a key shortcoming that not a single other reviewer (mostly sponsored) has mentioned. Ecoflow's sponsored videos are making me doubt some creators, several of which I'm a long term fan (JR I'm looking at you...). Some go so far as to delete comments that ask even mild questions or maybe ask for matching (perhaps sponsored) videos for Anker or some of the other key players. I've watched the comments disappear and had a couple of mine get deleted. On channels that I thought were honest and straight-forward. Very disappointing. I'm still doubtful of Ecoflow but perhaps my previous experience w/ them is an outlier and their equipment has certainly improved over the years.

At the time of this comment it’s October 20th. The current listing for a delta 3+ on their site says preorder now for shipping in mid November. If they were meeting the previous orders I could see that getting pushed due to volume with how much they are pushing these things, but looks like we are all going to be waiting on the same shipping containers to show up.

Overall, very good review! To be honest, I prefer to have at least 2 Receptacles in the back as well. Sorry to hear about the over-heating issue. Hopefully they solve it, but, my worry is that in solving it, they possibly lose performance. Please retest soon. I disagree that having the 3 x 2 prong receptacles offers more versatility. Actually, it is LESS versatility, they SHOULD have a ground prong. And there is zero reason not to include one on ALL receptacles. If they need room, they need to add the room, or rotate the receptacles. Anyone can cover all the receptacles with a power-brick that is oversized, so that point is not really useful. Thanks for the review.

So I then need flexible (not proprietary) inputs like solar, alternator, generator etc, and flexible output with an inverter that's compatible with the 5kW battery.
